When it comes to cyberpunk, many people must think of the classic 1982 movie "Blade Runner", which made the cyberpunk style popular and far-reaching. For CDPR, the team leader has publicly asked every developer involved in Cyberpunk 2077 to observe the film to deepen their understanding of cyberpunkism. Today's "Cyberpunk 2077" official push once again pays tribute to "Blade Runner" with the classic lines in the film.
"All these moments will eventually be lost in time, just like tears disappearing in the rain."
This poignant line comes from the film's villain Roy before his death, and a few words outline the fantasy scenes and artistic conceptions that somehow exceed the level of modern special effects, which is regarded as the golden sentence in the history of science fiction films.
The CDPR graphics are also very careful, this one from the studio's artists, the characters wear the game's iconic coat, but holding the symbol of the "Blade Runner" movie - unicorns. The meaning of unicorn is not spoiler here, but the homage to the "rain" + "unicorn" element has made many cyberpunk fans shout that CDPR is really in place.
It is worth mentioning that 2019 is the timeline of the 1982 version of the "Blade Runner" story, and the dutch actor Roy, Roy, also died in 2019 at the age of 75 like Roy in the film.
Cyberpunk 2077 will go on sale on April 16, 2020.
