I took the camera around the Orange House Hotel, the Orange House Hotel was built by some scattered buildings with the mountain, it is estimated that it was previously the office area or living area of the Forestry Bureau, and then changed to a hotel, the decoration and transformation is still relatively grade, there are some toon trees, cherry trees, cecilia trees, fir trees, etc. between the buildings, the first thing found is the yellow rumped quail on the tall toon tree, the dark green embroidered bird on the roadside ash tree, the gray crown swallowtail on the roof, but unfortunately at the beginning, the camera was not ready, only photographed the yellow rumped crane of the road goods.
There is a small platform on the second floor of my accommodation room, the platform is a good location for bird shooting, on the north side of the platform, a toon tree flew in time to a white-headed quail, this partridge, bright coat, in the background of young leaves, looks full of spirit. Outside the walls of the Orange House, there are some fruit groves and places where various birds concentrate, with the most common, in addition to the white-headed quail and the black short-legged grebe.

Behind the lobby of the Orange House Hotel, there is a water channel, next to the canal is a vacant lot, here grow some small shrubs, but also a good place to shoot birds. In the river in front of the Orange House Hotel, there is a small dam that blocks water, forming a small lake, and in the channel more than 100 meters downstream of the small dam, it is a perfect place to observe the red-tailed water plover, which often comes to the road to forage for food. On a flower stand near the hotel, a white-headed quail picks berries to eat. In the grass on the banks of the river below the road, there are striped birds, which are not very afraid of people, and small kingfishers often stop on the dam.

I photographed this bird for the first time, and I inquired about it, but it is actually a small bird that is very common as a sparrow, often moving in groups, and it is often domesticated. This bird is a bit like a sparrow, with a smooth coat color, which is a beautiful little bird. Near the Orange House Hotel, indeed if mentioned in the blog post, the birds are in good condition, even better than in the scenic area. Photographed almost everything near the Orange House and had breakfast at the hotel. The hotel's accommodation conditions and environment are generally good, but the breakfast is less than satisfactory, and the level of the chef needs to be improved urgently to be worthy of a beautiful accommodation environment.
After entering the scenic spot, we went straight to the Xiaohuangshan Scenic Area, at 5 kilometers, turned into the fork of the road, wanted to see if there was a bird watching point, all the way to a place called Baima Keng Hydropower Station, this road is basically a canyon along the river, friends with sharp eyes, he said he saw a crane, red-billed blue magpie, I am a bird did not see. Returning to the original road, continuing to Xiaohuangshan, all the way to continue to look for the yellow-bellied horned pheasant, all of which found nothing, only encountered a red-billed blue magpie. All the way to observe, to find out why it is called "Little Yellow Mountain", the pine trees here are a bit similar to huangshan, Huangshan is famous for welcoming pine, and the pine trees here are also a bit of welcome pine taste. Arrive at the Milk Peak Ropeway Station parking lot, where the terrain is relatively open, a small stream passes through the side of the parking lot, from here climb more than 1,000 steps to reach the Milk Peak Tower. There are many tourists who come here, but those who shoot birds do not see it.
As soon as I arrived here, I found that there were many flocks of birds flying around on both sides of the steps to the Nipple Peak Building, and the protagonist was still a crane, the first photograph was the chestnut-backed short-legged grebe, and then a large group of chestnut-eared grebes. Chestnut-eared grebes hunt on pine trees, a lot of them, very close, unfortunately, there are several photos with good angles, due to the adjustment to backlight shooting, forgot to reduce exposure in time, shot out are overexposed, only picked out this one is still fairly so-so.
Near the Milk Peak parking lot should be a must-visit place for birds in the South Ridge, in the upper part of the parking lot exit bridge, very humid, there is seepage outflow, in this ecological environment, there are many birds flocking here to feed, I photographed the yellow-cheeked, the gray-throated mountain pepper bird (female), the chestnut-eared phoenix and so on.

Surprisingly, we also photographed the chestnut-headed warbler here, a small bird species with a golden yellow belly and a chestnut head, and some time ago in Pond No. 3 of Baihualing in Baoshan Mountain, another friend photographed a "passing" chestnut-headed warbler, which is somewhat similar to the chestnut-headed warbler. The little bird was looking for food under the moss about 5 meters from the head of the bridge, and I crouched there for a while, coming three times in total, but its movements were very fast, often flashing by, and it was not easy to shoot. I found an opportunity to shoot continuously, and finally captured this fairly clear flying version.

We continued on our way, continued for about 1 kilometer, and found that there was a relatively open river valley, where the birds were in good condition, dozens of chestnut-eared birds were parked in the treetops on the opposite bank, and on a tree on the side of the road, there was also a wave of small birds, before I took out the camera, there were several waves of birds, and after taking out the camera, I only photographed a gray-throated mountain pepper bird, a hook-billed stork, and stayed in front of me for a few seconds before flying away. We also found some birds here when we returned, and it seems that the birds here are far better than the location of Lao Phong Bridge.

We drove all the way to Mangshan, Hunan Province, and the road conditions along the way were very poor and potholed, and our cars often bumped into the chassis. This is an inter-provincial rural road, a typical three-way area, no one cares about the road, all the way to the bamboo forest began to be more, the road is good and bad, it took about 30 minutes, we came to Hunan Mangshan Nature Reserve. Here, we photographed a copper blue bird, but the distance is too far, it can only be kept as a souvenir, even if it is the first Hunan bird photographed in the Mangshan Nature Reserve. Friends have a wide range of hobbies, have hobbies for animals and plants, and the most famous thing about Mangshan Nature Reserve is a unique snake "Mangshan Soldering Iron Head", which is a giant poisonous snake species unique to China. From the Mangshan toll station in Yizhang County, carefully drive back, all the way to observe, from the perspective of bird watching, the most valuable bird watching point in the boundary area of Nanling in Guangdong and Mangshan in Hunan is still the small section of the river valley of the demarcation bridge.
When we returned from Hunan Mangshan to the boundary of Nanling in Guangdong, the sun came out, the birds began to be active again, and a new round of bird waves was set off, mainly chestnut-eared phoenix, gray-throated mountain pepper bird, yellow-cheeked, red-eared quail, yellow-browed willow warbler, crimson mountain pepper bird, etc. This small valley, the terrain is relatively open, the stream is gentle, there are many flying ants, birds are gathered here, preying on flying ants, friends also found chestnut-headed warblers here.
