After the popular Korean drama "Running", actor Kang Tae-woo shared ideas such as working with his partner, shooting, and favorite scenes. In the play, Jiang Taiwu plays Li Yinghua, an art student who changed the life of sports agency CEO Xu Duanya (Xiuying of girls' generation). Of course, he first discussed his love affair with Xiuying in the play and the feelings of working with her.
He commented that he often had to play the role of a crush or unrequited love. So, he was really excited and nervous because he was finally going to perform his first reciprocal relationship. However, he said that meeting Xiuying before filming really eased his nervousness.
I met Hideyo Girl's Generation for the first time through Running, and it was a great honor. We read the script together, analyzed the characters, and I learned a lot from her. I especially thank Xiuying for liking the role of Li Yinghua, thanks to her, Li Yinghua can come alive. She did a better analysis of things I didn't understand, so we had fun when we were acting. I think she's an actress who even thinks about the personality of her partner and can make the play better.
Then, he talked about the acting skills of Ren Shiquan and Shin Shijing. He first mentioned that he already had a good relationship with the two of them, so it was easy to get along on the set. Ren Shiquan seems to be an actor who never stops learning. Even when acting, he has been trying to create better scenes. It makes me feel more ambitious and more willing to share my opinions. When I was acting with Shin Se-kyeong, she was very considerate of the environment on set and made sure I felt okay. The director also allowed us to often improvise our lines.
He was then asked how similar he thought he was to the character. In this regard, he shared: We have similar parts, there are different parts, but I think I am as friendly as Li Yinghua. The difference is that when we first met, I couldn't get close to someone first. He believes that Li Yinghua has a 58% similarity with him.
When asked why he chose to star in Running, he easily said he liked the chemistry between the characters. I was also touched by those amiable stories. Of course, he had to pick a favorite scene. One of my favorite scenes is when all the emotions he buried came up after he kissed Xu Duanya, and he cried. This shows Li Yinghua's innocence and charm.
Towards the end, he discussed his goals for 2021 and the actors' desire for a second part. He recalled: The actors were very sad and said: Let's do the second part. The screenwriter joked: You know your character. If there is a second part, you write the lines. For 2021, he only said he wanted to have fun in the next role and not get sick. Jiang Taiwu finally thanked the whole team for their work.
We started shooting in July and ended at the end of December, so I want to thank the director, the crew, and the cast for their efforts from hot days to cold days. Since the crew had spent some time together before filming, we were already intimate when we were shooting, so I felt like our chemistry was good. I feel very honored to be able to participate in such a great and warm play.
