Beijing Tongrentang is a well-known chinese medicine brand in the world, and is currently one of the most famous high-tech enterprises in the Chinese medicine industry in China. But few people know that there is also a traditional Chinese medicine enterprise in Jinan, Shandong, which has the same origin as Beijing Tongrentang and its nature belongs to "Beijing Tongrentang". It is only called "Hongjitang" to distinguish it from Beijing Tongrentang.
Its founder is Mr. Le Jingyu.
Le Jingyu is the third nephew of Le Puzhai, the owner of Tongrentang in Beijing, and has some personality. Unlike other cousins who had inherited his uncle's great cause, he was reluctant to open a shop, which disappointed Le Pu Jae very much. Helplessly, Mr. Le Lao paid a huge amount of money to "buy" him a position on the Shandong Alternate Road. Therefore, Le Jingyu came to Jinan from Beijing in 1902 to wait. Yang Shijun, who was then the Governor of Shandong, was very appreciative of Le Jingyu, and in 1904 he was transferred to him to organize the Shandong Guan Pharmacy Bureau and served as the general office. In 1907, Yang Shijun was involved in the establishment of the official pharmacy bureau in violation of Qing Dynasty laws and regulations, and was later transferred out of Shandong. After Le Jingyu returned the official silver 2000 taels, he obtained the right to bear the pharmacy and founded Hongjitang.
Before liberation, Hongjitang was equally famous with Beijing Tongrentang and Tianjin Darentang, known as the three famous halls in Jiangbei, and was actually a Le family business with the same door.
In 1909, he opened the Hongjitang Ejiao Factory in Liushui Street, West Guandong, Jinan, which extended the original three-day and night boiling system to nine-day and night refining, eliminating the original fishy odor of Ejiao, and the ejiao produced was fragrant and sweet, and Ejiao also became a famous product of Hongjitang.
At that time, the ejiao produced was "Fu, Lu, Shou, Cai, Xi" five-character glue and jingyan, ink ingots, excellent products, bright sixteen pieces, bright thirty-two pieces, black sixteen pieces, black thirty-two pieces and other different models of a total of 12 kinds, with an annual output of 5,000 kilograms of ejiao.
In 1915, Hongjitang Ejiao won the gold medal of the Panama International Exposition, and its products were sold well in China (at that time, various Chinese medicine stores were supplied by it, even Tongrentang was no exception, which can be described as the top of the industry), and it was also exported to Nanyang and Japan. It is rumored that during the Japanese and pseudo-Japanese periods, a Japanese who lived in Wanzi Lane in Jinan once purchased a large amount of ejiao from Hongjitang and came to Japan, and was authorized by the Japanese customs to import, while other proprietary Chinese medicines were not allowed to be imported. By 1934, Hongjitang's product sales had reached two-thirds of that of Beijing Tongrentang, becoming an important source of revenue for Lejia. There are historical and historical records that before the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, each kilogram of ejiao was priced at twenty-four yuan, while the flour at that time was only six or seven yuan a bag.
After the liberation of the public-private partnership, the government proposed that the products be centralized, chinese medicine should be returned to Chinese medicine, Western medicine should be returned to Western medicine, and Hongjitang medicine should be diverted. In 1957, Hongjitang Ejiao was assigned to Jinan Pingyin and Liaocheng Dong'a, and the personnel and equipment for the production of ejiao were moved from Hongjitang to Dong'a.
The famous Dong'e Ejiao brand originated from Jinan Hongjitang. Now belongs to Dong Ejiao Co., Ltd., which has proprietary Chinese medicines, health care products, biological drugs and other industrial categories, is the country's largest ejiao series products manufacturers, products are exported to Europe, America and Southeast Asian countries.
In order to achieve the convergence of Western medicine, the infusion injection workshop of Hongjitang was assigned to Jinan Pharmaceutical Factory and established three workshops, namely Yongning Pharmaceutical Factory; biological drugs were divided into Jinan Health Bureau Experimental Pharmaceutical Factory and Biological Pharmaceutical Factory. As a result, there is a large diversion of personnel, equipment and technology – there are now employees and equipment in The Qilu Pharmaceutical Factory.
Hongjitang has undergone changes such as Hongji Pharmaceutical Factory, Jinan People's Pharmaceutical Factory, Shandong Jinan Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory, etc., in 1999, it was restructured from Shandong Jinan Traditional Chinese Medicine Factory to Jinan Hongjitang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and in October 2002, in accordance with the principle of "strong alliance, complementary advantages, resource sharing, and common development", it was integrated with Linuo Group and became the core enterprise of Linuo Group. As one of the 40 major profit and tax households in Jinan, the current Jinan Hongjitang Traditional Chinese Medicine Cultural Industrial Park belongs to the national AAA-level tourist attraction and the first batch of industrial tourism demonstration bases in Shandong Province, with GMP production workshop, the main production equipment and instruments are imported into Germany, the United States, Italy and other countries, to achieve automated production and manufacturing, and gradually upgrade intelligent equipment. State-of-the-art physical and chemical laboratories. Relying on the modern Institute of Chinese Medicine, it has become an enterprise with three innovation platforms at or above the provincial level in the pharmaceutical industry in Shandong Province.
