Three times, others thought he was dead, but they all miraculously survived, and Du Yuming's life was hard enough

In the TV series "Amnesty 1959", when Du Yuming appeared, he was helped into Gongdelin by others, because he was in poor physical condition at that time, he could not move, and he had to be taken care of. Therefore, the director soon put Qiu Xingxiang and Zheng Tingji in charge of taking care of his daily diet and living. Even so, Du Yuming's physical condition was still very bad, and finally had no choice but to send him to the hospital for treatment, and with the approval of the high level, he specially purchased special drugs from Hong Kong to help him cure his previous problems. After that, it became a relatively healthy period in his life.

In the play, because Du Yuming's status is high when he appears, others seem to respect him, so he also gives people a very old feeling, in fact, he was born in 1904, and when he was captured in 1949 as a quartermaster of the Thirteenth Corps, he was only 45 years old, and even now, in fact, he is still young, if in academia, he is still in the range of young and middle-aged scholars. However, under the conditions at that time, even with the status of Lieutenant General Du Yuming plus the rank of general and deputy commander-in-chief of Xuzhou, he already enjoyed the best medical conditions in China at that time, and his physical condition was still not good.

The worst thing was that when he led the expeditionary force out of Burma, before setting out, when Du Yuming led some of his staff officers into Burma to survey the road, because the car overturned when he turned over the mountain, he was seriously injured, and when the officers of the expeditionary force saw him after entering Burma, he was still covered with gauze on his head, and only his eyes were exposed. However, the road conditions between the lofty mountains on the border of Yunnan and Burma can survive after the car overturns, which is already a fate. During the subsequent counter-offensive in Western Yunnan, Hong Xing, commander of the newly organized Thirty-ninth Division, overturned on the road to Kunming after being defeated by the Japanese army and died directly.

Three times, others thought he was dead, but they all miraculously survived, and Du Yuming's life was hard enough

As the top commander of the front line of the expeditionary force, the soldiers and horses did not move, he himself overturned the car first, suffered a car accident, and seriously injured himself, which was not a good sign. After entering Burma, although Du Yuming planned in many ways, and repeatedly maneuvered with Stilwell, British generals and others, resisting the Japanese army in Tonggu for more than half a month, but because of the constraints of all parties, especially the British army dropped the chain at a critical moment, the Sixth Army and the Sixty-sixth Army responsible for covering the return of the expeditionary army on the Eastern Front were easily defeated by the Japanese army, the return road was cut off, the expeditionary force hastily retreated, and finally could only return through the Savage Mountain.

The Savage Mountains are deserted, the mountains are densely forested, the heavy weapons are forced to be discarded, the supplies carried by the soldiers are soon exhausted, and they cannot be replenished, plus mosquitoes are rampant, coinciding with the rainy season, often heavy rain, and they have to avoid the pursuit and ambush of the small Japanese troops from time to time, so the retreat process of the expeditionary force is as reflected at the beginning of "My Regiment Commander My Regiment", it is very difficult, many people have malaria because they are bitten by mosquitoes, or drink raw water, they have malaria, and they have no ability to treat, and finally they can only die miserably. Du Yuming was also infected with malaria and was in a coma for three days and three nights. Everyone else thought he was dead, and it turned out that he was once again dying.

After Du Yuming returned to China, he was transferred to the commander of the Kunming City Defense, and after the end of the War of Resistance, he led the second phase of the Expeditionary Force and the troops stationed in India as the main body to fight a civil war in the northeast and compete for the northeast. At that time, Du Yuming was just over forty years old, but he was already ill, so after fighting for a while, just after occupying Shenyang, Du Yuming had to leave the front line and go to Beiping for surgery. Du Yuming was afraid that he would be taken away by others after he left, so he suggested that Zheng Dongguo be transferred to the northeast to serve as the deputy commander of the northeast security, acting as the northeast security commander in his absence. After a few months, Du Yuming's postoperative recovery was not complete, so he hurried back to the front line.

Three times, others thought he was dead, but they all miraculously survived, and Du Yuming's life was hard enough

By the second half of 1947, Du Yuming was in the northeast battlefield because the front line was lengthened, and the nationalist army headquarters was unable to increase the number of troops to serve as a defense, and the People's Liberation Army had stabilized the situation in the northeast, began to carry out counter-offensives in local areas, annihilated the nationalist troops many times, and he was seriously ill with kidney disease, and finally forced to leave the northeast, and the situation he laid in the northeast was changed to Chen Cheng. Until the liberation of Jinan, Du Yuming, who was already disheartened, had planned to go to the United States for medical treatment, but he was temporarily pulled back by a paper order, first to the Xuzhou battlefield, and then temporarily rushed to the northeast battlefield to command the retreat, the task of the northeast battlefield was completed, back to Xuzhou, the war situation had deteriorated, he could not get out, and finally he could only take the illness to Xuzhou.

According to Du Yuming's own account, he went to Xuzhou in the mood of the above execution site, so his thinking was very confused, during the Battle of Huaihai, although he made many suggestions, but at the critical moment he hesitated, coupled with the commander-in-chief's restraints, the order was changed, and in the end he failed to break out and was captured. Before the news of his capture was confirmed, the headmaster thought that he had become a ren, but he did not expect to hear the news of his capture after a while. It's another big difficulty not to die. Originally, he thought that he, as a person on the list of war criminals, was bound to be killed, and since he was ill again, he refused to cooperate. Unexpectedly, in the end, not only was he not killed, but he did not hesitate to buy special drugs from Hong Kong to help him treat his illness, and finally inspired him and made him change his position. The physical illness was cured, and the mental illness was slowly cured, and finally in 1959, he was pardoned and started a new life.
