I and "Red Miao", "Little Lotus"

My middle school years were spent in Fushun No. 1 Middle School. The memories left to me by my alma mater are unforgettable. In particular, the school magazines that have formed an indissoluble relationship with me, "Red Miao" and "Little Lotus", are even more nostalgic for me to review. The school magazine "Red Miao" has been treasured for more than 60 years, and the paper has turned yellow and has not been abandoned. She has been immersed in my heart for me, and she has been deepening for a long time.

The monthly poetry magazine "Red Miao" is edited by Zou Wanjin, secretary of the school party branch, and Cheng Shude, the principal of the school, and most of the editorial board members are Chinese teachers who have taught me. They are Wang Xigu, Yang Mu, Zhang Huanyin, and Sun Chengzhao. "Red Miao" is completely from the hands of teachers and students, writing, editing, proofreading needless to say, its word picking, typesetting, printing is also undertaken by the work-study school-run factory. Although the printing quality of the small publication is very low and the decoration is not exquisite, it publishes all the students' own poems and is deeply loved by the students. At that time, I was in junior high school for three years, and my Chinese teacher Washun Yin. Her melancholy reading, dignified and beautiful board books, and well-defined textual analysis made me like the language class. At that time, extracurricular activities were colorful and very active, and I signed up for the school's literature hobby activity group. In this group, I was the only junior high school student and had the privilege of making many high school classmates. The literature hobby activity group is active once a week on Saturdays, mostly poetry recitations, students take the stage to recite their own poems, and the Chinese teacher gives comments, which I have benefited a lot. Most of the poems of the members of the literary hobby activity group were published in "Red Miao", and the first small poem I wrote in my life was published in "Red Miao", which gave me great encouragement. My poetry study work "Coal War Song" was sent to Teacher Zhang for review, and Teacher Zhang and her lover, Fan Junru, a special grade Chinese teacher at Fushun No. 2 Middle School, gave serious revisions, which made me feel moved and my interest in writing poetry increased greatly. "Red Seedlings" is my mentor and friend, it is like a ship, leading me to the infinitely wide ocean of poetry. Starting from the 4/5 joint magazine of "Red Miao" in 1959, it was changed from a single poetry monthly to a comprehensive literary and art journal, publishing novels, essays, poems, reviews and other literary and artistic works, which were more loved by the majority of students. As a result, my literary vision has become broader, starting from simply writing poetry to gradually writing prose and novels, and my enthusiasm for writing has risen even higher. In the second year of high school, I served as the deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Student Union and edited the school magazine "Red Miao". At this time, "Red Miao" had been changed from a lead-printed publication to a blackboard newspaper. There is a large blackboard on each wall on either side of the door of the first entrance building, which is the garden of "Red Seedlings". I gladly accepted the task, deeply felt the heavy responsibility on my shoulders, did not dare to slacken off, immediately put into the composition, editing, writing, only two days, with the help of my classmates, the first issue of "Red Miao" that I edited came out. Since then, it has been issued once a week without interruption. This work continued until I graduated.

Whenever I see the publication of "Red Seedlings" that condenses my own efforts, joy and pride arise spontaneously. "Red Seedlings" is a paradise outside of my classroom and a stage where I like to write. Middle school students in the city went to Xinbin to participate in the rice planting work, I served as the editor and reporter of the "Rice Transplanting Express", and when I went to LiShi Commune to work, I served as the editorial reporter of the "Upstream Newspaper". This experience has influenced my life, I went to the society, successively engaged in "Fushun Daily", "Fushun Legal Daily", "Fushun Law Garden", "Fushun Legal Dynamics" and other newspapers and magazines for more than 20 years, it can be said that there is a direct relationship with this experience, it is "Red Miao" that led me to gradually become obsessed with literary creation and journalism, and cultivated my ability to control words. I never forgot to nurture my alma mater, my teacher. As the years flew by, my daughter also entered my alma mater to study. My daughter often brings me news of my alma mater. The Alma Mater established the Association of Literary Lovers. I am honored to be hired as a consultant. From this, I got to know my daughter's Chinese teacher, Zhang Yunfan, who was diligent and dedicated, and worked hard for "Xiaohe". From him, I saw the shadow of my Chinese teacher's hard work in cultivating students. Thinking about the impact of "Red Seedlings" on me that year, I deeply felt the importance of "Little Lotus" to the growth of students. I have the responsibility to support the growth of Xiaohe newspaper, I help find someone to draw illustrations, design the layout by myself, ask the students of my alma mater to make literary reports, and edit their literary and artistic works to be published in the "Fushun Legal Newspaper". I also interviewed the Literary Lovers Association and wrote an article entitled "Little Lotus Shows Sharp Corners" published in Fushun Daily, advocating and blowing for "Little Lotus", and wishing "Little Lotus" to stand tall and grow up quickly.

What is even more gratifying to me is that under the influence of the "Little Lotus" newspaper and under the guidance of the teacher, my daughter is obsessed with literature and her writing ability is gradually improving. She participated in the Three Northeastern Provinces Small Writer Essay Contest and the Provincial and Municipal Middle School Students Essay Contest and won awards, her works were continuously published in Fushun Daily, Liaoning Daily, and Benliu Literary Monthly, and her poems were also published by the Writers Publishing House in the book "Selected Reviews of Outstanding Poetry of Middle School Students in China". Her daughter was later admitted to the Chinese Department of Liaoning University, and after graduation, she engaged in editing and journalistic work, which was inseparable from the cultivation given to her by "Xiaohe" newspaper. "Red Seedlings" and "Little Lotus", a banner of campus culture. My daughter and I, father and daughter generations have the privilege of benefiting from the influence and cultivation of their alma mater "Red Miao" and "Little Lotus", and I regard "Red Miao" and my daughter as an eternal friend and a station of youth.
