Yuanling has a superior ecological environment and a long history of tea production, and Jietan tea was listed as a tribute in the Tang Dynasty. Yuanling Jietan tea is one of the important industries for agricultural poverty alleviation and rural revitalization in Yuanling. In recent years, the county has grasped the tea industry as the "No. 1 Project" to enrich the people and strengthen the county and accurately alleviate poverty. At present, the tea garden area of Yuanling County has reached 150,000 mu, the tea output has reached 10,000 tons, the comprehensive output value is 1.2 billion yuan, more than 120 tea-related enterprises and cooperatives have been developed, and more than 80,000 employees have grown tea and tea making, driving nearly 30,000 poor people out of poverty. Jietan Tea has won the titles of "China's Excellent Tea Regional Public Brand" and "Hunan Top Ten Agricultural Regional Public Brands", and has become "National Geographical Indication Protection Product" and "National Geographical Indication Certification Trademark". Yuanling County is known as "The Hometown of Organic Tea in China" and "The Hometown of Famous Tea in China".
