Zhengmi Road once had a large folk performance

Once a folk performance in southwest Zhengzhou

When the Huanggang Temple had not yet been demolished, in the tenth day of the first month, first the Qili Yan Township Government, and later the Songshan Road Office, all of which organized cultural groups from various villages to participate in performance activities. For a while, the activity was carried out on Zhengmi Road between Danqing Road and South Third Ring Road. Cultural groups from all villages came to help. They set up a position within the demarcated area. At that time, in the entire jurisdiction of QiliYan Township, only this road usually had few vehicles, and it was about a thousand meters long. The villagers who come here to watch the performance are crowded and very lively. At that time, my family was in the area between the Zhengzhou Martyrs Cemetery and Zhengmi Road, and I could watch this grand event every time.

These cultural groups are recorded in the "Chronicle of Qi Li Yan Township"; 2 Luzhai waist drum teams and 2 Yangge teams; 1 each of the Xiaolizhuang lion and drum teams; one each of the Qili Yan lions, pans, and waist drum teams; 1 each of the Sun Bazhai Pan Ingle Team; 1 Feng Zhuang Big Drum Team; 1 each gao zhai literary and art singing team, a lion shrew team, a pan ingot team, and a yang song team; Wang Hu, a song team, and a juggling team; a Liu Ling lion shrew team, a waist drum team, and a gong na team; a Huanggang Temple martial arts class, a Yu opera class, a lion singing team, a jinghu waist drum, and a song team; and a jinghu waist drum and a lion song team 1 lion team, one each jia zhan martial arts and one yangge team; one each of the Fogang panji, waist drum and yangge team.

I remember that the performance at that time was usually at 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning. Rowing a dry boat, stepping on stilts, two ghosts wrestling feet, lion dances, dragon dances, waist drums, coiling, singing, juggling, etc., take turns to perform, and constantly set off climaxes. In order to attract the audience, the performance groups have come up with their own fame skills. For a time, the audience surged with the waves, one after another. I was deeply affected by the lively scenes.

Folk performance activities are mostly griffins, coiled ferrets, waist drums. "Dagang Liu Xiangzhi" also has relevant records: folk traditional literature and art is the people of the township love culture and art, the formation of folk traditional literary and artistic activities, quite distinctive such as dry boat dance, lion dance and so on. The "Lion Dance" in Liu Village, Dagang Village, and the Dry Boat Dance in Fengwan Village are more famous in western Zhengzhou.

The dry boat dance dry boat is made of light wooden strips tied into the shape of the boat, and then surrounded by silk forged colored paper, the boat has no bottom, and the surface of the ship is equipped with two prosthetic legs and feet. Huanggang Temple folk performance in the last century

Once a folk performance in southwest Zhengzhou

I am a resident of Huanggang Temple and grew up there. The folk performances of Huanggang Temple, such as the martial arts class, the Yu opera class, the griffin, the pan weasel, the waist drum, and the performance of the Yangge team recorded in the "Qi Li Yan Xiang Zhi", are particularly memorable.

Let's start with martial arts. Huanggang Temple also used to have martial arts training schools. When I was in elementary school, there was a martial arts school in Huanggang Temple School. Mainly engaged in Shaolin martial arts teaching. There was also a martial arts student in the class, from Xinjiang, and I still remember his name, Gu Xiaofeng. The New Year's Day Martial Arts School also performs jointly with the Huanggang Temple School, which is very frequent. The martial arts instructors "shattered bricks" and "swallowed swords", and the students were stunned. Later, the martial arts school moved to the rental house in the Martyrs' Cemetery. That year, my second brother also filmed martial arts performances for them. There is a xiansheng temple in the village, which is actually the lower courtyard of the Shaolin Temple, and is also engaged in medical treatment and martial arts. The Zhengzhou Evening News also reported that the martial monks of the Xiansheng Temple taught the students of Huanggang Temple Primary School to practice martial arts. The bearded coach, dressed in a monk's robe, looked young and impressed me.

Huanggang Temple has a long history of singing opera in the past. The place where the big drama is sung is in the Huanggang Temple. HuanggangSi Village was once the seat of the Yongkang District Government in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. When I was a child, Huanggang Temple Village had long been leveled by the "leveling the land" movement. However, there are still remnants, and you can see the rammed wall. Standing in the ditch, it is very tall. The first time I saw it when I was a child was not a big singing drama, but a lion dance performance. There was a table on the table, and the performers climbed high to the ground. At a young age, I was thrilled to see, and I was really afraid that the performer would fall off the top. So later, when I watched the movie "Huang Feihong", I always remembered that past. It was the late '70s, and my aunt held me to see it, and it was crowded.

Huanggang Temple sings not only during the Spring Festival, but also three temple fairs. In the past, the Spring Festival stage was not demolished, because shortly after the Lantern Festival, there was a temple fair in early March. Huanggang Temple has a professional drama school. The drama school teachers are a couple who live in the Huanggang Temple Brigade. Their school was in the old brigade. It is the photo "Xiansheng Temple" that can be seen now. The "Temple of The Manifestation" was established after the drama school. Later, the drama school moved to the intersection leading to Liu Zhai Village, around the old school of Huanggang Temple. In addition to the stage of Huanggang Temple in Zhaigou, it is also in the area of the old Huanggang Temple School on South Street, and the new village committee of Huanggang Temple on North Street has also set up a stage. At that time, I didn't have a level of appreciation for "singing opera", and I only felt that Wusheng was more interested in fighting and killing, turning over his head, jumping fish, and vertical dragonflies, and even imitating. This past was also written in high school and submitted to the "Henan Radio and Television News" for publication. Huanggang Temple also produced famous Yu opera performance artists. This is recorded in the "Chronicle of Qi Li Yan Xiang": Jing Xilian, a Hua Dan actor of the Zhengzhou Yu Opera Troupe (in the last century). Her role as "Chuncao" was a blockbuster, and after being performed in Beijing, she was recorded as a drama TV film by Henan Television. The "Chronicle of Qi Li Yan Xiang" once recorded two actors, and another named Wang Xiling, a fogang native, who worked in the (last century) Zhengzhou Yu Opera Troupe, was a deputy to the National People's Congress and a member of the National Drama Association.

The folk performances of Huanggang Temple are also very passionate. The performances include dry boats, rice songs, stilts, two ghost wrestling, rice songs, and griffins. Not only in the village committee, but also in the streets and alleys, and even in the townships, districts, and cities. When the People's Liberation Army was stationed in the Zhengzhou Martyrs' Cemetery, it also performed for the People's Liberation Army, deepening the water conditions of the military and the people. Huanggang Temple still has a drum band, a griffin team, and a drama class, which has greatly enriched the culture of the villagers.
