Wang Qunce wrote in the statement: I have been commended by the General Administration of Sports for many times, have not been subjected to any administrative or disciplinary punishment, and have trained world champions, Olympic champions, Asian Games champions such as Luo Li, Pang Panpan, Xiao Lu, Huang Huidan, Yao Jinnan, Fan Yilin, Liu Tingting, Guan Chenchen, Chen Yile, and Wang Yan. Some people with malicious intentions have long been hearsay, subjective assumptions, rumors and incidents in social media and related gymnastics forums, with rhythm, public opinion, vicious insults, slander, stigmatization, demonization and personal attacks on me and my partners on the Internet, and even gymnastics fans through WeChat to induce the team members to violate team rules and discipline, create team contradictions, and undermine Olympic preparations. I am only a team coach and do not have any organizational decision-making power. The comments and descriptions of the relevant conspiracy theorists are completely untrue, and have a bad impact, seriously infringing on my personal rights such as the right to reputation and the right to portrait, and bringing great harm to my work and life.
The 63-year-old Wang Qunce, known by the media as the "godfather of Chinese gymnastics", from 2011 to 2018 for six consecutive gymnastics world championships, the Chinese women's team has won only one gold medal, and these gold medalists are all athletes in Wang Qunce's group.
