
Wu Huanxian (1907-1935), a native of Xinxian County, Henan Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1925. In his hometown, he actively propagated Marxism-Leninism, carried out revolutionary activities, established the first party group, the first rural party branch, and the first peasant association in the Jianhe area; founded the Three Revolutionary Red Schools in Caomen, Zhan Jiawan, and Zhengjiabian in the four corners to build peasant armed forces, so that the peasant movement in the Jianhe area developed rapidly.
In November 1927, Wu Huanxian led thousands of people from the Jianhe Red Guards, the Santang Red Guards, and the Peasant Red Guards to participate in the Jute Uprising. In the spring of 1928, he moved to the Area of ChaiShan Bao to engage in revolutionary activities, making important contributions to the opening up of the Chai Shan Bao Revolutionary Base Area. In December 1929, he was elected chairman of the Agrarian Committee of the Eyu Border Revolutionary Committee and actively carried out the agrarian revolutionary movement. He participated in the creation of the Eyu-Anhui Revolutionary Base Area, and successively served as a member of the Eyu-Anhui Special Committee, a secretary of the Huang'an County CPC Committee, a member of the Eyu-Anhui Provincial Party Committee, a political commissar of the Red 73rd Division, a director of the General Political Department of the Red Fourth Front, a commander of the Red 25th Army, and a political commissar. In November 1934, he led the Long March of the Red 25th Army, led the opening up of the Eyu-Shaanxi base area, and served as the acting secretary of the CPC Eyu-Shaanxi Provincial Committee, known as the soul of the Red 25th Army. In August 1935, he died heroically in the battle of Sipo Village, Jingchuan County, Gansu Province, at the age of 28.
