China News Service reporter Zhang Qiang

"In the inheritance and development of opera, the use of new media and new platforms should be promising and optional. Theaters and theaters cannot go with the flow, but must have their own perseverance. Han Zaifen, deputy to the National People's Congress, vice chairman of the China Dramatists Association, and chairman of Anhui Zaifen Huangmei Culture and Art Co., Ltd., said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency recently.

Huangmei Opera is one of the five major opera genres in China, one of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in China, known as "China's most beautiful country music", and its representative works such as "Tianxian Match", "Female Pony", "Huizhou Woman" and "Huizhou Past" are famous at home and abroad.

Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Han Zaifen has led theater troupes to actively promote the innovative development of Huangmei opera, creating short videos of Huangmei opera on the theme of the epidemic, teaching and singing online Huangmei opera, exploring the diversified cross-border integration of "opera + network + comics", and cooperating in the development of "Huangmei opera culture and education 'rich media' resource platform", so that Huangmei opera art has a new youth and life.

"We must also see that the impact of new media on opera has also been highlighted." Han Zaifen said that some actors can easily "make quick money" in the short term through the live broadcast platform, and even affect daily practice, which will interfere with the improvement of personal business capabilities and the sustainable development of the industry.

Han Zaifen introduced that opera practitioners are still low-income people, facing high prices, high housing prices, especially young actors also face the pressure of marriage and children. "As a theater director, I would like to say that it is understandable that they can earn some money by their own efforts, but they must not waste their business because of live broadcasting, and they cannot put the cart before the horse."

At the same time, Han Zaifen believes that the threshold of today's live broadcast platform is too low, the quality of content is uneven, and it is impossible to achieve the artistic impact brought by the theater to the audience. Han Zaifen said that live broadcasting cannot be the main position of Huangmei opera, and Huangmei opera should adhere to the characteristics of stage art. "The new media platform is only a kind of communication medium for opera, and live broadcasting cannot replace the stage, and the final and best way to present opera must return to the stage."

Han Zaifen suggested that the government should introduce more policies and regulations to regulate live broadcast platforms and disseminated content, and guide and support Opera to make good use of new technologies and new platforms. Theater troupes and theater practitioners should uphold the original mission of inheriting and creating first, and grow up healthily.

On the second day of the first lunar month, Han Zaifen and her colleagues threw themselves into the rehearsal of the play, and at the same time she was nervously preparing to participate in the two sessions of the National People's Congress. Han Zaifen introduced that in recent years, as a front-line literary and art worker, I can personally feel that the government and the public attach more and more importance to traditional culture. However, many theater troupes still have outstanding problems such as weak foundation, low self-sufficiency rate, weak profitability, lack of high-end talents, and difficulties in introducing talents.

Han Zaifen suggested that relevant departments should increase policy and financial support for the infrastructure construction, repertoire production, inheritance and promotion, talent training, and industrial development of xiqu, especially in the development of new forms of opera, and further cultivate and develop the creative industry of opera.

For decades, Han Zaifen has been on the front line of opera heritage. She believes that in order to better inherit opera, we should promote the production of high-quality plays and do a good job of "people" articles. "People" is the core, not only the cultivation of outstanding opera practitioners, but also the cultivation of young audiences.

In addition, the inheritance of opera is not only the inheritance of skills, but more importantly, the inheritance of spirit. A hundred flowers blooming opera is a unique art category in China, a Chinese aesthetics, which carries the spirit of traditional Chinese culture and is a vivid sample of the self-confidence of chinese national culture.
