Dong Naibin, male, born in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, was born in Shanghai in 1942. He graduated from the Department of Chinese of Fudan University in 1963 and the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1981. He has been working in the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for a long time, is a researcher of the Institute, a national "young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions", and has successively served as the director and deputy director of the research office, and a professor and doctoral supervisor of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. In 2001, he was transferred to Shanghai University, and is now a tenured professor of Shanghai University, the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Shanghai University (Social Science Edition), the editorial board member of Literary Review, the vice president of the Chinese Tang Dynasty Literature Society, and the vice president of the Shanghai Classical Literature Society.

His academic specialty is the study of Tang Dynasty literature and literary history, and he has published monographs such as "The Biography of Li Shangyin", "The Spiritual World of Li Shangyin", "The Literary Independence of Classical Chinese Novels", "Scribes and Literature in the Turbulent Flow of Culture", "Spiritual Civilization of the Tang Empire - Folklore and Literature" (in cooperation with Cheng Qiang), "Flowing Golden Years", "Studies on Famous Artists and Classical Literature in Recent Times" and other monographs and academic essays "The Sound of the Burrow". He has published more than 100 papers. Since 1981, he has participated in and presided over the National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Project for many times, and is the chief editor of "The Construction of New Disciplines in Literature and Art".
