The Jiangsu procuratorial organs prosecuted Zhang Xinqi's suspected bribery case in accordance with the law

According to the Supreme People's Procuratorate's news on November 1, Zhang Xinqi, a former member of the party leading group and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress, was suspected of accepting bribes, and after the State Supervision Commission concluded its investigation, it was transferred to the Supreme People's Procuratorate for review and prosecution. Upon designation of jurisdiction by the Supreme People's Procuratorate, it is to be submitted to the Nanjing Municipal People's Procuratorate of Jiangsu Province for review and prosecution. Recently, the Nanjing Municipal People's Procuratorate has filed a public prosecution with the Nanjing Intermediate People's Court.

During the review and prosecution stage, the procuratorial organs informed defendant Zhang Xinqi of his procedural rights in accordance with the law, interrogated defendant Zhang Xinqi, and listened to the defender's opinions. The Nanjing Municipal People's Procuratorate indicted and charged: From 2001 to 2019, defendant Zhang Xinqi took advantage of his position as deputy secretary, vice mayor, and mayor of Weifang City, secretary of the Weifang Municipal CPC Committee, deputy secretary and mayor of Qingdao Municipal CPC Committee, and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress to seek benefits for relevant enterprises and individuals in matters such as enterprise operation, project development, project undertaking, planning approval, and job adjustment, and illegally accepted property from others, the amount of which was particularly huge, and they should be investigated for criminal responsibility for accepting bribes in accordance with law.
