According to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) reported on the 31st, in the latest NBC poll, most Americans currently do not agree with the work performance of US President Biden, and half of the people have a low evaluation of his performance in terms of work ability and unity of the country.
In addition, the survey found that 70 percent of U.S. adults (including nearly half of Democratic supporters) believe the U.S. is moving in the wrong direction, and nearly 60 percent have a negative view of the way biden has managed the economy since nine months in office.
Jeff Horwitt, a Democratic poll expert at Hart Research Associates, said: "The Democratic Party is facing a country where perceptions of President Biden have shifted sharply to the negative since April. Howett continued: "The promises made during Biden's presidency — knowledge, ability and stability in difficult times — have been called into question." Pete Hart, a Democrat pollster, added: "People vote for stability and calm [for Biden], but what they get is instability and chaos." ”
In this poll, the proportion of U.S. adults who are satisfied with Biden's overall work is 42%, down 7 percentage points from August. By comparison, the percentage of people who expressed dissatisfaction with their work reached 54 percent, up 6 percentage points since August.
The NBC News poll comes after Biden's tough summer and early fall as he faces a surge in coronavirus infections and deaths; the consequences of a chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan; rising inflation; disappointing job numbers; and infighting in the Democratic Party over Biden's legislative agenda.
Perhaps more troubling for Biden, NBC said, only 37 percent of adults believe he is competent and effective in holding the presidency, while only 28 percent believe he has united the country. In the end, Biden's approval rating (40% positive, 48% negative) was almost the same as Trump's approval rating (38% positive, 50% negative). That's a stark gap from biden's higher approval rating than Trump's in the 2020 presidential election.
With next year's U.S. Congressional midterm elections and less than a week to go before Virginia's much-publicized gubernatorial campaign, President Biden's low polls have dragged down his party, which, for now, Democrats lag behind Republicans on which party is better at handling economic, inflation and immigration issues, NBC said.
