"My father donated his kidney to me so that I can live a better life in the future..." Lin Xu's family lives in Beitun City, Altay Region, 4 years ago, he suddenly felt unwell, and continued to aggravate, returned to his hometown sichuan with his father, was diagnosed by the local hospital as "chronic renal insufficiency, hypertension level 3", and returned to Xinjiang after being hospitalized for treatment.

In January 2020, Lin Xu began to feel weak and headaches again. So I went to many places to seek medical treatment, but there was no improvement. At the end of April 2020, Lin Xu came to the People's Hospital of the Autonomous Region, and when he was admitted, his kidneys had atrophied, and his creatinine was as high as 1466.70umol/L (the normal male value was 53-106umol/L), and he was finally diagnosed with "chronic renal failure uremia stage".

After that, Lin Xu chose to receive peritoneal dialysis treatment, and after that, due to the unsatisfactory removal of toxins by peritoneal function, Lin Xu began to do additional hemodialysis once a week. "It's very uncomfortable to do hemodialysis, and my parents are afraid that I will have heart failure and other complications of uremia, so I consider changing my kidney." In July 2021, Lin Xu had a matching with his father in Sichuan and was told that a successful matching could be operated on.

At the end of September, Lin Xu was re-admitted to the hospital, and the People's Hospital of the Autonomous Region treated him on dialysis while actively preparing for his kidney transplant surgery as soon as possible. Jiang Hong, director of the Department of Nephrology of the Autonomous Region People's Hospital, introduced that although kidney transplantation is the best choice for the treatment of uremia at present, due to the scarcity of kidney sources, the waiting time is long, and the living kidney transplant of healthy relatives does not need to wait, and can be transplanted as soon as possible to reduce the long-term complications of uremia.

After a series of examinations, Lin Xu's father met the conditions for kidney donation. After the approval of the ethics of kidney transplantation in relatives was approved, on October 5, Director Li Jiuzhi led the urology team to perform surgery for Lin Xu, which lasted 3 hours, the kidney was only hot and ischemic for 4 minutes, and one of Lin's father's kidneys was successfully transplanted into Lin Xu's body.

"Everything was gray when I was sick, and now I have new hope, find a girlfriend, fall in love, and live well." 」 Lin Xu said that he also looked forward to a full recovery, returned to Beitun and quickly opened his small shop, and seriously became a print advertising designer. Now the father and son are recovering well after surgery.

Yang Yining, deputy secretary of the party committee and president of the Autonomous Region People's Hospital, said that after the unremitting efforts of several generations of medical personnel, kidney transplantation has become a routine operation of the Autonomous Region People's Hospital. The success of this operation means that the level of multidisciplinary joint treatment of complex critical illness in the hospital has reached a new level. In the future, the People's Hospital of the Autonomous Region will continue to improve the more standardized organ transplant treatment system, so that patients who need organ transplantation can get effective treatment at their doorstep.
