Nio is not the first company in the world to try to change electricity, but it is the company with the widest spread and the greatest investment so far.
On December 16, 2017, NIO released a power exchange technology with high self-developed attributes at the first NIO Day, and Li Bin personally demonstrated it on the spot, spending the "most tense" 3 minutes in his life.
On May 20, 2018, NIO's first generation replacement power station was completed in Shenzhen Nanshan Science and Technology Park. On October 5, 2020, NIO announced that it had accumulated more than 1 million power exchanges.
The first power change was 1 million times, and it took 869 days for Weilai.
In the early morning of March 24, 2021, an ES6 with a completed power exchange slowly drove out of the Suzhou delivery center, which was Weilai's 2 millionth power exchange.
The second power change was 1 million times, and Weilai only took 170 days.
On January 9 this year, NIO officially released the second generation of replacement power stations on NIO Day. Three months later, the first second-generation replacement power station was officially completed and put into operation.
In the heavy asset investment of the replacement power station, Weilai has been slow, but it has never stopped.
According to the data released by NIO, as of October 31, 2021, the total number of NIO replacement power stations exceeded 560, of which one-fifth were laid out in the highway service area and the import and export periphery.
During the 11th holiday in 2021, WEIO's national highway substations provided a total of 27,581 power replacement services, an increase of 94.0% compared with the week before the National Day and an increase of 272.6% over last year. During the National Day period, the expressway replacement power station provides a maximum of 118 times of power replacement service in a single day, and the average time from the time the user places an order to complete the power exchange is 14.1 minutes.
By the end of this year, the total number of WEILAI replacement power stations will exceed 700, and before the Spring Festival in 2022, a high-speed power exchange network of "five vertical, three horizontal and four metropolitan areas" will be built, including G5 Beijing-Kunming, G15 Shenhai, G30 Lianhuo (Jiangsu Lianyungang - Shaanxi Baoji section), G50 Shanghai-Chongqing and other 8 expressways and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Circle, yangtze river delta metropolitan circle, Greater Bay Area metropolitan circle, And Chengdu-Chongqing metropolitan circle.

In the weilai substation planning, the first 200 are first-generation substations, and from the 201st to the later, they are all second-generation substations. Generational replacement plants will be upgraded after the expiration of their service life.
In the matter of completely eliminating the anxiety of ordinary consumers about the mileage of electric vehicles, Weilai can be described as doing everything.
First of all, it created a "smart energy service system" - NIO Power, a power-up solution based on mobile Internet, relying on Weilai cloud technology, to build a "rechargeable, replaceable and upgradable" energy service system to provide all-scenario power-up services.
At the household fixed end, 20kW fast charging piles and 7kW home charging piles are provided. A standard 75-degree battery pack takes up to 14 hours to charge from 10% to 100% and as little as 5 hours.
On the mobile travel side, it provides substations, supercharged piles and one-click power-up services.
The substation has more than 1400 patents, and it only takes one song to change the power at a time. Each power change will be carried out three-electric self-test to ensure that the vehicle and battery are always in the best condition.
THE DC supercharge pile is responsible for providing fast, intelligent and reliable charging services in public scenarios, from 20% charge to 80% in only half an hour. Support plug-and-play charging and scan code charging.
Weilai charging car is better known as "Daddy Car", which provides power-up services in a flexible way, charging for 10 minutes and lasting 100 kilometers. Placing an order on the NIO App, the charging car will actively complete the charging service.
At the end of October, WEILAI also completed the layout of 1,002 charging stations, covering 202 cities across the country, from Jiamusi in the east, to Yining in the west, from Sansha City in the south to Mohe in the north.
The first NIO charging station was launched on January 17, 2018, and the first 500 NIO charging stations lasted 1236 days, and from the 501st to the 1000th NIO charging station took 146 days to go online.
Up to now, NIO has built a total of 438 supercharging stations (including 2604 supercharging piles) and 564 destination charging stations (including 3125 charging piles) across the country.
