After watching the movie "The Wind Listener", when I walked out of the theater, the sadness and touching emotions still stayed in my heart, and then, I felt that this film was still not full enough.
The story takes place in the early days of liberation, the Kuomintang attempts to subvert the new regime, 701 set up a spy unit for monitoring the enemy station, but faced major difficulties, urgent need to find, excellent hearing tuner to help crack the code, so A Bing (played by Liang Chaowei) appeared, his ability to make 701's decipherment work smooth. With the help of Zhang Xuening (zhou Xun), he restores his hearing, but he mishears the coded telegram, resulting in Zhang Xuening's death, so he pokes his blind eyes, restores his hearing, and wins the mission.
The bridge section where Zhang Xuening and the five "Chongqing" play cards is a section of the whole film that is both wonderful and tedious. The oppressive and suspenseful atmosphere is indeed the standard of spy warfare, five people who play mahjong and each have a ghost fetus, making the plot seem more complicated, who is ultimately better? And who broke the window paper first to open the situation? And who is as stable as Taishan and suppresses all parties? These are all expressed in this scene.
But the tedious part is that although Zhang Xuening is already in a situation of being pinned down, Zhou Xun still uses her acting skills to seem to have shown the imperative of the task, I thought there would be some reversal, after all, the twists and turns of the spy drama is more gripping, unexpectedly, she was stabbed to death in silence, so that I have not returned to God. Although in the end, a shot was used to show the blood left after her sacrifice, but everything came too quickly, and there was no hurry to feel the heroism of the sacrifice, which made Zhang Xuening sacrifice in vain.
Some viewers said that the level of this drama itself is average, otherwise it would not invite big names such as Liang Chaowei and Zhou Xun to support this movie, and some viewers said that the movie starring Zhou Xun seems to have a bad ending.
In the play, the emotional line between Zhang Xuening and Ah Bing is also too single, until the appearance of Shen Jing (played by Fan Xiaoxuan), it seems that Zhang Xuening's vinegar intentions can be seen, and some viewers think that Shen Jing's role in the plot is too weak later, and the sense of existence is so low that it is not as low as the pair of glasses that Ah Bing took. I think that the highlight of the whole drama, the plot setting, is that Ah Bing listened to "Chongqing" as an "old ghost". Looking back at the whole play, the biggest feeling is that there is no climax, and this paragraph has become a climax.
A blind person, because of the restoration of vision, hearing becomes degraded, hearing loss, resulting in work errors, therefore, lost the most important person in his life, and finally poked blind eyes, trying to restore hearing. This is a flesh-and-blood, beginning, climax, ending, complete story, so this section is the most dramatic, because it can become a separate story, even if it is separated from the whole movie, it can still exist, and it is still very eye-catching.
At the end of the film, Ah Bing said in the cemetery: From birth to death, no one can hear their names, only the sound of the wind here. This is the theme of the movie, becoming a spy film in the true sense.
The movie "The Wind Listener" is most suitable to define it as a literary film in the spy war, compared to the wonderful and full spy film like "Latent", "Before the Dawn", and "The Pretender", "The Wind Listener" is more like relying on actors to support the entire movie.
