On September 12, the WeChat public account "China University of Science and Technology New Innovation Alumni Foundation" released an article entitled "Fake Prodigy Liu Duanyang, the Legendary Deception of AI "God Stick"", saying that after many investigations, Liu Duanyang, CEO of Moby Hike, who claimed to be "admitted to the junior class of the University of Science and Technology of China at the age of 12", pretended to be an alumnus of the junior class for many years.

According to the article, on September 4, 2021, the University of Science and Technology of China Xinchuang Alumni Foundation and the Alumni Association of the Junior Class of the University of Science and Technology of China received complaints from alumni, and Liu Duanyang frequently appeared in Suzhou Industrial Park as an alumnus of the Junior Class of the University of Science and Technology, suspected of being fake.

According to the article, the University of Science and Technology of China Xinchuang Alumni Foundation and the Alumni Association of the Junior Class of the University of Science and Technology of China have searched for all the students of the first junior class of the 78th grade and inquired about the list of undergraduate students enrolled after the "Cultural Revolution" of the University of Science and Technology of China. Liu Duanyang was not found. They reviewed the student records published by the Alumni (General) Association of the University of Science and Technology of China, and all the alumni directories (not limited to junior class students, not limited to undergraduates) did not find Liu Duanyang. They contacted all relevant institutions such as the Archives of the University of Science and Technology of China, the Junior Class College, and confirmed that Liu Duanyang had not been found in all alumni registrations.

In terms of birth date and related class follow-up, the University of Science and Technology of China New Alumni Foundation and the University of Science and Technology of China Junior Class Alumni Association introduced that there are two kinds of statements: "Liu Duanyang was born in 1986 in a peasant family in Guyuan, Ningxia" (Lvliang Network) and "born in May 1984, Master of Tsinghua University" ("2018 Suzhou Industrial Park Jinji Lake Talent Commendation Conference Honorable Album"). Because he was "admitted to the junior class of the University of Science and Technology of China at the age of 12", it is speculated that if it is true, it is a 96-99 grade juvenile class. Although all the above-mentioned authoritative departments have confirmed its falsification, we still consider the extremely small theoretical possibility that Liu Duanyang will enter the junior class re-examination and be admitted to the juvenile class re-examination (but did not report). We extended our expansion to consulting with each class and multiple students in the 95-00 junior class; inquiring about the situation in the WeChat group of the alumni of the junior class of HKUST; inquiring about the situation of many informed teachers such as the junior class teacher; and some teachers continued to ask the responsible teachers of the HKUST Admissions Office of similar years. We have received feedback from all institutions and unanimously agreed that Liu Duanyang is a fake junior class alumnus.

The above article also said that after investigation and verification, Liu Duanyang had claimed to a number of alumni that he was from the 98th grade of the University of Science and Technology of China. The Class Teacher of the 98th Grade and the head of the institution (who happened to be the assistant teacher of the junior class re-examination written examination, interview proctoring, physical examination and score entry in 1998) confirmed that there was no such person.

At the end of the article, we mentioned that we sent an email to Liu Duanyang and Mobi Hike at 15:00 on September 5, limiting Liu Duanyang to reply within 24 hours. Liu Duanyang has not replied to the email so far.

The relationship between the NTECH Foundation and the university authorities of HKUST is "cooperative but independent". The New Innovation Foundation is not affiliated with the University of Science and Technology of China, but will communicate and cooperate closely with the university, and the projects promoted by the New Innovation Foundation should in principle be approved by HKUST. The NIE Foundation is positioned to unite alumni resources and serve the development of HKUST, with the vision of supporting HKUST's efforts to "create a global university and cultivate talents in the world" and promote the creation of an excellent brand of education and research in HKUST.

It is worth mentioning that the above article also mentioned that we are convinced that Liu Duanyang's tsinghua university experience is suspected of being fake. Liu Duanyang applied for the Suzhou Industrial Park's 2018 science and technology leading talents to use the "Tsinghua University Master" and other experiences. However, the University of Science and Technology of China Alumni Foundation and the Junior Class Alumni Association of the University of Science and Technology of China have informed the Suzhou Science and Technology Bureau and Suzhou Industrial Park of Liu Duanyang's history of falsification by email and telephone. "We are happy to send official letters to all local governments and industrial parks accusing Liu Duanyang of falsifying his history."
