Beijing News Express (reporter Wu Tingting) In the 2020 college graduation season, college students studying in Beijing cannot return to school because of the epidemic, what about the items they "lie" in the dormitory? The reporter learned from Beijing Post that 85 Beijing universities, including Peking University, Chinese Min University and Beijing Institute of Technology, will start the mailing of graduate packages, and students' luggage will be mailed one after another to "return home".

College students have a lot of items to pack because of their long time in school, it takes about an hour to pack a boy's items, and it often takes two or three hours to pack a girl's items. Responsible for packing are the school's teachers, professors, small needles and threads, large to wallet jewelry, in order not to leave an item, the teachers open the video connection to clean up the students on the spot.

The baggage packing process uses an up-and-running recorder

This afternoon, in the male dormitory building of the Liangxiang campus of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhang Feng, deputy secretary of the party committee of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and colleagues and two student volunteers were communicating via WeChat and Xiao Wang, a graduate from Hubei Province, to confirm which items he left in the dormitory needed to be packed. Zhang Feng took the mobile phone, pointed the camera at Xiao Wang's bed and study table, and asked carefully: "Here is a honey box, I will open it to see if you need it." The volunteer took the box from the desk and slowly opened it, which contained a photograph and other small items. Zhang Feng said from the video call: "This photo looks very precious, or leave it?" Some of the other things are only packaged, do you want it? Xiao Wang looked at the video and confirmed with Zhang Feng one by one that the items needed to be couriered.

At the same time, Wu Qin, a professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, is also helping students sort out their belongings in the girls' dormitory, the floor is full of cardboard boxes, Wu Qin opens the video connection, and the students on the other side of the camera confirm what needs to be packed. The reporter saw that the girls' things are very rich, there are five or six bottles of cosmetics on a girl's desk, plus shampoo, conditioner, etc., and the bottles and cans add up to at least fifteen or six bottles. The teachers are very careful to organize things, a pen, a few bags of small snacks, a small tube of ointment will carefully ask the students if they need it.

Zhang Feng told reporters that in order to ensure that the students' belongings were not mailed back to the ground, the teachers not only opened a video call, but also used an uphill dashcam, which is mainly to record the overall environment of the dormitory site. Comparatively speaking, boys' things are relatively few, about an hour can be sorted out, generally there are seven or eight packages; but girls have more items, a girl's things sorted out for two or three hours is a common thing, seventeen or eight packages are not a problem.

Professors and tutors become the "big housekeepers" of students

From 2006 to the present, Wu Qin has brought 14 years of graduates, and this year's graduation season has different feelings for her. "We are basically the tutors who are responsible for packing the students we bring, and these children get along with us all the time during the school period, and they have a deep affection." This was the first time I had bid farewell to my students in this way, and it felt very kind, and I had done my duty to the end. ”

Zhang Feng said that since the school decided to send items home for free to graduates through unified courier, the whole school has held many coordination meetings, and the teachers have all participated, with the responsibility of tutors and student volunteers, packing stranded items for graduates. "The School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has more than 230 people, including government officers, student counselors, professional teachers, and students in school, who are involved in this work."

Gao Fuqing, director of the Liangxiang Branch of the Fangshan District Branch of China Post Group, said that the graduates have more stranded items and a long time to sort out, according to the plan, a total of 536 graduates at the Liangxiang Campus of Beijing Institute of Technology need express parcels, and the total parcel volume is expected to exceed 6,000 pieces. As of today, about 800 packages have been packaged and are scheduled to be mailed to the school by mid-July.

Do a good job in epidemic prevention and safe transportation of graduate packages

The reporter learned from Beijing Post that due to the period of epidemic prevention and control, the postal department adopted the team service receiving and sending mode, through the implementation of the most stringent epidemic prevention measures, special personnel stationed at the point, special mail routes, special vehicles to ensure the safety and efficiency of each link. Gao Fuqing said that every packaged baggage should be disinfected in time, and after the baggage is uniformly transported to the transfer center, it is also necessary to carry out an overall disinfection at the transfer center.

Postal staff will also train college teachers in advance on the preparation of receiving and sending, reminding teachers of precautions in the packaging process. For example, laptops should separate the battery from the host computer in the mail, and need to pad items to avoid squeezing; learning books need to be encapsulated in a No. 5 carton; perfumes, mousses, and compressed liquids are prohibited from being delivered. At the same time, postal staff will also pack the graduates' luggage together with the teachers of the university to ensure smoother delivery.

In addition, graduates who stay in Beijing for employment or graduate school can also temporarily store their luggage in the warehouse of Beijing Post free of charge through the "Postal Cloud Warehouse" service, and then pick it up after returning to Beijing. It is reported that it is expected that 85 Beijing universities will mail luggage for graduates through Beijing Post. As of July 1, Beijing Post has received and sent more than 30,000 packages to the graduate campus.
