On March 21, Professor Wang Minghua, 80-year-old deputy director of the Customs Work Committee of Zhejiang University, once again brought more than 40 teachers and students to the red boat in Jiaxing South Lake to relive the road to founding the party by reading party history.
"Keep in mind that the red country is not easy to come by, and no matter how far you go, you can't forget the road you came." Wang Minghua used his grandfather's revolutionary story and his own personal experience as vivid teaching materials to give a vivid party lesson on the side of the red boat. The narrator is affectionate and the listener is attentive.
As the eldest grandson of Comrade Wang Gemei, one of the founders of the Communist Party of China and a major representative of the Communist Party of China, Wang Minghua has never changed his original intention, retreated without end, and tirelessly taught others. In the 1960s, he stayed at Zhejiang University and joined the Communist Party of China in March 1974. After retiring in 2011, he was invited to participate in the Qiushi Propaganda Group of Zhejiang University, actively participating in the education of ideals and beliefs for young people, especially party members and students, so that the red gene and revolutionary torch can be passed on from generation to generation.
A standard image to witness the glorious deeds of the martyrs
Walking into Wang Minghua's home, the wall of the living room facing him is full of photos, the most eye-catching of which is the standard portrait of his grandfather Wang Gemei, which is also the only photo left by Wang Gemei before his death, which was pasted into the earthen wall and was preserved.
"This photograph was taken in 1923 in a photo studio in Langfang, with my grandfather's autograph on the back, and this photo has a shelf with the name of the Langfang photo studio printed on it, and this photo must have been given to my great-grandmother when my grandfather was alive." Wang Minghua said.
In the second half of 1919, Wang Gemei went to Beijing as a representative of the Shandong Student Union and came into contact with Li Dazhao and other early Chinese Marxists. In the following year, together with Deng Enming and others, he initiated the establishment of the "Lixin Society" and founded the semi-monthly magazine "Lixin" to study and disseminate new ideas and new cultures. In 1921, he participated in the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China as a representative, and attended the Second National Congress of the Communist Party of China the following year. During the day-long rush, he was infected with tuberculosis.
On August 19, 1925, Wang Gemei died of illness in Qingdao. Before his death, he dictated from his hospital bed and asked the head of the Qingdao Party organization to record his will: "All comrades must work hard and fight to the end for the liberation of the proletariat, all mankind, and the complete realization of communism!" And pressed the handprint after looking at it, at the age of 27.
After the founding of New China, Chairman Mao Zedong personally instructed the collection of Comrade Wang Gemei's relics, and this photograph, which had been hidden for more than 20 years, was retrieved.
"At that time, Chairman Mao knew that my great-grandmother was still alive, and he said that Wang Gemei's mother was still alive, and you must find her and see what other relics Wang Gemei had." Wang Minghua said, "When someone came, I found my great-grandmother and asked, it was her." People find it, see if there is anything else, how can not remember, think again, only to remember that there is another photo in the wall, which is to dig that photo out of the wall. Because the time was relatively long and sticky, I did not dare to move, sent to the Jinan Photo Studio, all repaired, copied and sent to Beijing. The chairman showed Dong Laoyi that it was him (Wang Gemei). The original photograph was kept by my uncle. ”
In 1967, the photograph passed to Wang Minghua, who was already at his alma mater, Zhejiang University, and framed it and hung it on the wall of his dormitory to accompany him.
What grandfather asked others to do, we had to do first
"After my grandfather's death, I left my grandmother, great-grandmother, three generations of widows with my grandmother, my uncle at the age of 8, and my father who was not yet 4 years old." Wang Minghua said: "Under the guidance and education of the party, my parents and parents embarked on the revolutionary road early, from the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. ”
Wang Minghua's uncle, Wang Naizheng, was the deputy commander of the Jilin Provincial Military Region before his retirement, and was born and died for the revolutionary cause in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation. Wang Minghua's father joined the revolution when he was young, and after the founding of New China, he was transferred to the front line of the construction of the motherland, and his mother was also a member of the Communist Party.
Wang Minghua's generation grew up in peaceful years, and both of his daughters are members of the Communist Party. "What my grandfather asked others to do, we ourselves had to do first." He proudly said, "Starting from my grandfather, our four generations of grandchildren have always been loyal, down-to-earth and firmly following the Communist Party. ”
Wang Minghua entered Zhejiang University in 1960, majoring in radio technology. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1965, he stayed on to engage in microelectronics research. After the reform and opening up, as one of the first batch of students to study abroad, he went to the University of Tokyo to study optoelectronic technology. After returning to China after completing his studies, he focused on integrated optoelectronic technology. He applied to create a major in optoelectronic technology, began to enroll undergraduate students in the fall of 1985, and also created the Integrated Optoelectronics Laboratory of Zhejiang University together with other teachers.
As the academic leader of the optoelectronics discipline of Zhejiang University, he is immersed in the field of scientific research. Since 1965, he has devoted himself to research for more than 40 years, obtained more than 20 patents, published more than 200 papers, undertaken a series of national and provincial key research projects, and served as a member of the Semiconductor Group of the Department of Informatics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for two terms.
His research group has a tradition, after routine academic discussions, he will chat with students from his own experience, the family's revolutionary history, and China's development process. Students said that the most heard sentence was "In the future, whether you stay at home or go abroad for further study, you must remember the party and the motherland!" ”
Since 1988, Wang Minghua has trained 23 doctoral students, and the number of master's students has been trained. Feng Hao, the first doctor he supervised, said that his teacher was still moved: "He has the temperament of a revolutionary family, integrity and kindness, conscientiousness, very strict requirements for himself, low-key, never showing off." ”
It's so important to have faith, that's why we're telling it to the next generation
This year, Wang Minghua is 80 years old, and he laughs and calls himself a "post-80s". "Whenever I hear someone call me Grandpa, I think of my Grandpa Wang. I want to say to him: Grandpa! Grandchildren have lived up to your hopes, and we have a common vow to follow the Communist Party! After retirement, he did not idle at home, but joined the Zhejiang University Caring for the Next Generation Working Committee and was invited to participate in the Zhejiang University Qiushi Propaganda Group.
Since joining the preaching team, he has carefully prepared every lecture plan, and his voice is loud in the class, and his handwriting on the lesson plan is clear and powerful. In order to better explain the history and fine traditions of the party to the students, "charging" has become an indispensable part of Wang Minghua's daily life. Today, he still insists on making newspaper clippings, cutting his favorite "tofu blocks" from the newspaper, carefully pasting them on the pages of the book and organizing them into a book. Every day, he carefully marked with a pen of different colors, and the dense experience would be carefully recorded on the side.
In Wang Minghua's view, faith is an indispensable and important part of the personality shaping of contemporary college students and young people. "A true Communist Party member must believe in Marxism and fight for the interests of the people!"
In the Spring Festival of 1963, the 22-year-old Wang Minghua walked into the memorial hall of the first congress of the Communist Party of China for the first time, and when he thought that this was the place where his grandfather held the meeting, he could not bear the excitement, "Where every grass, tree, table and chair are like talking, telling you that what has happened here is extraordinary."
"Our family is firmly following the party, because we have all experienced hardships and know how important it is for people to have faith in this life, so we have to tell this to the next generation." Every time he took the students to the Jiaxing South Lake Revolution Memorial Hall, he personally explained a big bit of the CCP's story, so that the students could feel the power of the red boat spirit and faith in the on-site teaching.
At the recent inauguration ceremony of the Party Building Office of Wang Minghua Graduate Student of Zhejiang University "Under the Banner of the Bright Red Party", he gave a model of a red boat he treasured to the studio, hoping that the students could vigorously carry forward the spirit of the red boat, establish the ideal of fighting for the cause of communism, not afraid of difficulties, bravely move forward, and let the red gene and revolutionary torch be passed on from generation to generation.
