Director Niu Chengze was sentenced to 4 years for sexual assault and was allowed to postpone imprisonment to start the anti-escape mechanism

According to Taiwanese media reports, director Niu Chengze was sentenced to 4 years in prison for allegedly sexually assaulting crew members in 2018, and was originally scheduled to be executed on November 2, but Niu Chengze has moved his household registration to Hualien to serve his sentence in Hualien, and even provided a mother's diagnosis certificate, saying that he would take care of his elderly mother and hope to postpone his imprisonment. The Hualien District Public Prosecutor's Office agreed to postpone the date of the issuance of the prison to 30 November and to activate the anti-escape mechanism.

During the directing of the movie "Running Horse", Niu Chengze took advantage of the departure of other crew members in the evening, left as an art group employee, despite the resistance of the murdered woman, sexually assaulted with her fingers, and the woman was accompanied by her roommate afterwards and angrily called the police.

Although Niu Chengze compensated NT$2 million (about 450,000 yuan) during the court trial and reconciled with the victim, because he argued that the woman had a good feeling for him and denied the crime, he was still found to have no remorse, and the first and second trials were sentenced to 4 years in prison according to compulsory surrender, and the Supreme Court rejected the appeal and decided to serve the sentence in prison.

The outside world speculated that Niu Chengze wanted to avoid the media, had already moved his household registration to Hualien, and submitted a diagnosis certificate to the prosecutor on the grounds of his mother's condition, and specifically asked Hualien to serve his sentence and reschedule his sentence. Chief Prosecutor Lin Junting of the Hualien District Prosecutor's Office said that in consideration of humanity and the effectiveness of punishment enforcement, he agreed to change the date of the release of the prison to November 30, and at the same time activate the anti-escape mechanism.
