Veron: I never regretted joining Manchester United during my time in England wasn't my best days

Recently, former Argentine midfielder Verón was interviewed by 442, in which he talked about his experience at Manchester United.

When he joined Manchester United, Veron was considered one of the strongest midfielders in the world. In 2001, he moved to Manchester United for a record £28.1 million. Although he won the Premier League title at Manchester United, he was considered a loser by the British media and two years later he was sold to Chelsea at a reduced price.

"I have never regretted joining Manchester United. I signed for Manchester United because I had a passport problem in Italy and I felt that changing the environment was good for my mentality. To be honest, at the time, I was pessimistic about playing in England because I imagined that life there would be very different from the Latin way of life I was used to. But I found that I joined an extraordinary club and you would have a hard time finding a club that was so well organized that there were so many people out there who were willing to help me. ”

"I had two wonderful years in Manchester, won the Premier League title and everything that happened to me changed the way I think about Britain. I'm still in touch with a number of former teammates, Dwight York, Scholes, Quinton Fowjong, Wes Brown, and the Neville brothers. ”

"I know people expect a lot from me and I think I did it myself. In situations where there are already good options, if the club really needs me, then I have to change, which may have to do with the characteristics of the players. ”

"If there's anything I'm not doing well, it's probably the physical adjustment aspect. I was used to the Italian way, but during that time in England, in order to play, I needed to do physical conditioning. ”

"I'm not used to playing without intense pre-match preparation and it's not good for me in the long run. As we played more and more games, my level of performance also declined. My form fluctuated frequently, with a couple of games that performed really well, but others that were bad. ”

'In Italy, I always aimed to have a more stable play, but I know that that time in england was not my best time to play.
