The former site of the Supreme Court of the National Government, the real building is in the shape of a "mountain", which means "law enforcement is like a mountain"

On the afternoon of the first day of the Chinese New Year, there were few pedestrians and vehicles on the road, except for a snoozing janitor who looked up at me, only a few sparrows on the dead branches made a few noises. The sun in the west has been obscured by the entire building, there is still a trace of afterglow on the spire of the tower, and the silent courtyard is even more solemn.

The fountain in the courtyard of the former site of the Supreme Court of the National Government is said to take the meaning of "a bowl of water is flat".

There was a huge fountain in the courtyard, and the dead branches spread and the water stains were all over the place, looking dilapidated. It is said that this is taken from the proverb of "a bowl of water is flat", and the Chinese people always love to pull some meanings into the far-fetched relics. It is always unreasonable to say that there is no pool in the courtyard of Western architecture, but the whole building is really a "mountain" glyph, which means that law enforcement is like a mountain.

In addition to the anti-Japanese period, countless major and important cases were staged here, which were either very popular or boiling with public indignation, such as the case of "endangering the Republic of China" against Chen Duxiu, where Chen Duxiu and defense lawyer Zhang Shizhao gushed endlessly and denounced Fang Wei and left a good story for the Republic of China Department of Justice; in addition, the high "military law" meeting organized by the Military Commission of the National Government tried Zhang Xueliang's case; and the National Government v. Wang Pseudo-Qun rape case also occurred here.

Ju Zheng (1876-1951) was the president of the Judicial Yuan of the National Government and the president of the Supreme Court

In the National Government, the president of the Supreme Court is generally a senior elder, such as Hubei Renjuzheng. Mr. Ju is a strange man, a former Qing Xiucai, a senior student in the law department of a Japanese university, Guangxu made a revolution with Sun Yat-sen in 31 years, returned to China to instigate an uprising, served as the commander-in-chief of the Northeast Army of the Chinese Revolutionary Army, and more than 30,000 temporarily recruited scattered soldiers under his command actually defeated Yuan Shikai's elite Fifth Town of Beiyang, winning consecutive battles and winning consecutive victories, and wei zhenlu southwest. In Wuhan, he personally went to the front line to direct the battle, and suffered a head injury, which was difficult not to die. He strongly opposed the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communists, and was scolded by Sun Yat-sen to the point of spewing blood. Mr. Zhongshan died in Beijing Xian, he was a entourage of important ministers, the boss of the "Xishan Conference Faction", during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he vigorously promoted britain and the United States to abolish extraterritorial jurisdiction, and he made great contributions, and he was anti-Chiang Kai-shek and anti-communist all his life, without complaint or regret.

He was president of the Judiciary from 1932 until 1948, when he was president of the Supreme Court for several years. He has made great contributions to the construction of the rule of law in the Republic of China, and has made many efforts to make for the progress of modern justice in the actual sense of China, and many of his understandings are also very beneficial to this day, for example, he believes: "The evolution of the society of the crowd, the intricacies of all phenomena, and the intricacies of all phenomena, if not based on the law, it is not enough to encompass the transformation of heaven and earth, but it is not enough to bend into all things." Ju Zheng had a very clear understanding and profound reflection on the many political outlaws of the Republic of China period, the change of orders and the change of the day, and the rough interference of the powerful in the judiciary.

Although Mr. Juzheng was in a high position, he was hard and honest all his life, dressed in cloth and shoes, and ate and believed in Buddhism. When he arrived in Taiwan, he wrote until 11:00 p.m. on November 23, 1951, washed his feet as usual, went to bed, and sat down during the foot washing, at the age of 75. What a blessing!

The dome in the former site of the Supreme Court of the National Government

Nowadays, things are not human, and the three floors are occupied by magazine agencies, ticket agents and other companies. Looking at the layers of carved domes, people sigh. I wanted to find the former dean's office, but I stopped moving and stopping, and it didn't matter. In the past 100 years of China, twists and turns, stumbling, the world is big, it is difficult to match! We have taken so many detours and paid such a big price, which always has a lot to do with the fact that the rule of law is greater than the rule of law in the bones of the people in our country, and the lack of contract spirit.
