Anchovy properties: Is the meat of anchovies of the family Herringidae. The body of the anchovy is oblong and flattened, with a body length of 24 cm, and the larger one can hit more than 50 cm, and the side of the head is flattened. The anterior end is blunt and pointed, the mouth is large, the mouth is slanted, and the jaw is slightly longer. The gill rakers are fine. The scales are large and thin , with grey-black dorsal and head , slightly bluish-green on the upper side , and silvery white on the underside and abdomen. The ventral fin fin is greyish white, and the caudal fin edges and base of the dorsal fin are pale black. Anchovies are in the reproductive period from April to June.
It goes up the Shuo River, lays eggs and multiplies in the middle and lower reaches of the river, and mainly feeds on plankton or other organic matter in the water. It is mostly distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the East China Sea and the Yangtze River, Pearl River, Qiantang River and other river basins in the South China Sea. It is one of the most famous precious edible fish species in China.
