Since 2016, the National Centre for the Performing Arts has planned and launched the "International Opera and Film Exhibition" for five consecutive years, and the five film festivals have attracted 60 films from 13 world-famous art institutions to participate in the exhibition, covering 22 cities across the country, screening more than 1,410 times, benefiting nearly 150,000 audiences, and making important practices in promoting the popularization of opera art, exploring the integration of science and technology and art, and receiving wide acclaim from the audience.

This year's film festival is hosted by the National Centre for the Performing Arts, co-organized by Broadway Cinema, China Education Chinese Film National Campus Cinema Line, capital cinema, and domestic art institutions such as the National Centre for the Performing Arts, the Central News Documentary Film Studio (Group), the China Opera and Dance Theater, Shandong Film and Television Production Co., Ltd., Shanghai Film (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Peking Opera House, Shanghai Radio and Television Station, Capital Jinghu Art Research Association, Shumeng, Wu's Planning and other domestic art institutions.
It is worth mentioning that well-known international art institutions such as the Royal Opera House of the United Kingdom, the Royal Opera Of Madrid in Spain, the National Opera of Berlin in Germany, the New National Theater in Japan, the Teatro Alla Scala in Italy, and the Metropolitan Opera in the United States will also present their classic works.
In order to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Party and relive the revolutionary years, the "Red Memory" section was specially set up in this film festival, and the audience will enjoy the musical and dance epic film "Struggle bar, Sons and Daughters of China" carefully filmed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, the opera film "Yimeng Mountain", which just premiered in the country in July, "Long March" that praises the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army for their struggle and sacrifice for faith, and the red films "White Haired Girl" and "Jinsha Riverside".
This year marks the first anniversary of the establishment of the "World Theatre Alliance" initiated by the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and the newly curated "Alliance Selection" unit focuses on the Czech opera film "Yenuva" newly produced by the Berlin State Opera house in Germany this year, the Spanish Royal Opera House "Rukia of Rammer" starring the famous Chinese tenor Shi Yijie, and the opera classics "Faust" and "Narcissus" brought by the Royal Opera House and the Metropolitan Opera House of the United States respectively. Japan's new National Theater will present a new masterpiece "Turandot" in the public welfare screening. Tosca of the Teatro alla Scala in Italy will also be presented during the screening at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
In the "Special Invited Films" section, the winning film "Zhenguan Event" of the Chinese Film Golden Rooster Award "Best Opera Film Award" will be honored, and the documentary "Karas Voice for Love", which records the legendary life of maria Karas, the "Opera Goddess", will bring a different viewing experience to the audience.
From October 30 to the end of November, under the premise of ensuring epidemic prevention and safety, 11 films will be screened at Broadway Cinemas and Capital Cinemas in 8 cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Wuhan, Hangzhou and Tianjin.
In order to enrich the aesthetic education of colleges and universities, the campus screening activities of this year's film festival will also be held throughout the country at the same time, so that teachers and students of colleges and universities can relive the century-old party history and inherit the revolutionary spirit in classic red films.
