According to the Arab Arabian Al Arabiya News Network (AlArabiya) reported on August 25, local time, Tajikistan President Rahmon said in a meeting with visiting Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi that the Taliban have failed to fulfill their commitment to form an inclusive government, and Tajikistan will not recognize an Afghan government that is not inclusive and cannot represent all the peoples of Afghanistan.

Rahmon also said that the current domestic situation in Afghanistan is still a sharp global problem, and it also poses a major threat to regional security. He called on the United Nations to intervene as soon as possible in the situation in Afghanistan and to play a key role.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi is currently visiting the Central Asian countries in connection with the situation in Afghanistan. During the talks, Rahmon told Qureshi that the Taliban's gain of control of Afghanistan has further complicated the geopolitical process in the region. The Tajik side firmly condemns all forms of illegal acts, personal injury, looting and surveillance of the Afghan people in Afghanistan. Rahmon stressed that Tajikistan is a friendly neighbour of Afghanistan and supports peace and stability in the country, but that Afghanistan must form an inclusive new Government.

In a statement issued by the Office of the President of Tajikistan on the 25th, the "Islamic Emirate" established by the Taliban was "contrary to the commitment to inclusiveness".

"The facts clearly show that the Taliban are violating their earlier commitment to form an interim government with broad participation by other political forces in the country and are ready to create an Islamic emirate," the statement said. If the [Taliban] does not take into account the position of the Afghan people as a whole, especially all minorities, Tajikistan will not recognize any Afghan Government established through oppression. ”

Since June this year, Tajikistan has been closely following the situation in Afghanistan, and since the Taliban took over the Attawi border in July, Tajikistan has increased its troops to the border areas and held joint anti-terrorism exercises with China, Russia and other countries.

Russia's Central Military District issued a notice on August 17 saying that the Russian Armed Forces in Tajikistan 201 military base will soon carry out a one-month military exercise. From August 18 to 19, the Ministry of Public Security of Our Country and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan conducted a joint anti-terrorism exercise "Anti-Terrorism Cooperation-2021".

The Tajiks are the second largest ethnic group in Afghanistan and live mainly in northern Afghanistan, while the Taliban are mainly made up of ethnic Pashtuns living in central and southern Afghanistan. Historically, the Taliban and Tajik warlords have been at odds with each other, with the main composition of the Northern Alliance, an anti-Taliban military organization in northern Afghanistan, dominated by Tajiks, and the anti-Taliban warlord Ahmed Massoud, known as panjashir lion, who is also Tajik.

Despite the historical contradictions, the Tajiks have not clashed much with the Taliban in the battles that have swept across Afghanistan this year. In July, the Taliban occupied the Shir Khan Bandar crossing on the Afghan-Tajikistan border without fighting, and as many as 1,037 Afghan government officers and men retreated into Tajikistan.

After the Taliban entered Kabul, the Tajik warlord Masood Jr., the son of Masood, announced in the Panjshir Valley that he would organize a "resistance army" and would not accept Taliban rule. According to Reuters reported on August 22, Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the anti-Taliban armed forces in northern Afghanistan, said in a telephone interview on the same day that he hoped to hold peace talks with the Taliban, but his troops were also ready to fight the Taliban.

Earlier, it was reported that The Little Horse Sod had received ammunition supplies from the State of Tajikistan. On August 23, the Herat Times Telegram channel of Afghanistan reported, citing people familiar with the matter, that resistance forces in Panjshir province had obtained weapons, ammunition and other necessities from Tajikistan.
