Looking for "savages" in Shennongjia 1, I initially tended to think that the so-called "savages" were nonsense

This should have been written after 2000 and before 2004. The specific time has been, can't remember clearly, there is no need to figure it out, it is not important.

Now it seems that a lot of things have changed; a lot of things, still.

Many things cannot be said, such as "savages", less said, not clearly. Say too much, people say you hype; in "My Regiment Leader My Regiment", Deputy Master Tang said: Young people, think well and then say, more words, it is not clear... Then don't say anything. This article was included in the humble book "N Hidden Places I Unforgettable" (Guangxi Normal University Press. 2004)。

Still the original text exists here, the photos are too lazy to find more, at that time for the editor is these. Put it all here.

Time flies, there is no need to dwell on these... In the era of mobile phones, wild people and tigers may one day be dedicated, which is not surprising at all.

Time is a pig-killing knife, everything is always revealed, everything must always come out, whether you care about it or not.

Looking for "savages" in Shennongjia 1, I initially tended to think that the so-called "savages" were nonsense

In the winter of 2021, we made a routine mountain tour in Shennongjia. A few old people, media and young people except for the keyboard cool, it seems that no one really wants to go to the mountains.

Shennongjia, the "roof ridge of central China" in the mountains of northwest Hubei, is named after the legend that The Shennong clan once set up a shelf here to collect medicine and taste hundreds of herbs. This area has 336 species of terrestrial vertebrates, more than 200 species of birds, more than 30 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 27 orders of insects, accounting for about 81.8% of the national insect species. The wild rare animals under national key protection include 40 species of golden snub-nosed monkeys, golden leopards, South China tigers, white storks, golden eagles, giant salamanders, and labocarps, and albino animals such as white bears, white chamois, white monkeys, and white snakes have also been found. Shennongjia now has 2419 species of higher vascular plants. According to its geographical location and ecological conditions, Shennongjia can be divided into three different vertical forest plant belts: the mixed forest belt of subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest between 800-1500 meters above sea level (cultivated vegetation below 800 meters); the warm temperate deciduous, broad-leaved and coniferous forest belt between 1500-2600 meters above sea level; and the cold temperate evergreen coniferous forest belt above 2600 meters above sea level.

According to legend, there are "wild people" in Shennongjia, which casts a mysterious color on the area.

1. Initially, I tended to think that the so-called "savages" were nonsense.

The city where I live, The Automobile City of Shiyan, is only a few hours' drive from Shennongjia, which is famous for its frequent "hauntings" of "wild people", and most of the current Shennongjia Forest Area belongs to this city in the original zoning. In the eyes of many friends, I belong to the so-called love of adventure, the strange things are always curious, when I was a student and before, not counting the car, I have crossed Shennongjia twice on a bicycle. However, about the "savages", at that time I tended to think that it was nonsense, and I muttered in my heart: I always say that there are "savages", and I have the ability to catch a live one and come to see it! One is because of the many times the Shennongjia shuttle back and forth, and did not find anything that surprised me, the relevant "wild man" legends heard by the detectives are always varied, and everyone feels absurd; the second is that people are prone to common diseases at work, the distant is mysterious and beautiful, and the people around them feel nothing, the so-called "home flowers have no wildflower fragrance." So when the Comprehensive Scientific Expedition to China's Rare Animals and Plants came, I was actually very dissatisfied. It was only at that time, as a journalist, that I had just finished walking the Han River, and with my professional curiosity and yearning for life in the wild, I insisted on an interview.

This contingent came from a very large head, and there was a great noise in the news, and even the famous Tang Shi Zeng Tang Lao Duck came, and the reporters accompanying the team from "People's Daily", Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, "China Youth Daily" to "Beijing Evening News" were all from Beijing. I went to the captain Wang Fangchen, who said that he was very embarrassed, saying that the number of places was too limited, and the place was basically not considered. Fortunately, I was directly under the leadership of the city's propaganda minister, who was very open and clear to help me with my work, and after several twists and turns, I finally had the honor of joining as a local journalist. Only then did I begin to abandon my personal preconceptions and demand that I observe the wild man calmly, carefully and systematically:

The topic of "savages" has made human beings uneasy for a long time, and it is still listed as one of the four major scientific mysteries in the world. Although human beings have had thousands of years of brilliant civilization and can already make spaceships go to heaven to explore the vast universe, they are actually more confused about their own origins. In the middle of the night, think about it, we people are actually really pitiful.

Where do people come from? -- "Man is a monkey", today's elementary school students will say so, but is this really the case? How did it change? Several of my friends who have studied the theory of evolution have said: Evolution actually lacks several links and cannot be strung together. The emergence of the "wild man" problem, in a sense, may be connected to these links. The attitude of science is that it cannot be argued out of thin air, and scientific inference needs to be carried out on the basis of sufficient factual basis. It is now increasingly recognized that the study of the small number of living fossil "wildlings" that may currently remain on Earth is a shortcut to understanding the problems of human evolution. Whether there are wild people or not is the key to solving this problem.

In the same way, are there "wild people"? Yes or no, there should be sufficient evidence to enable ourselves to convince ourselves.

-- This expedition and subsequent envoys agreed with The view of Mr. Wang Fangchen, the leader of the expedition at the time and secretary general of the Professional Committee for the Investigation of Exotic and Rare Animals and Plants of the China Association for Scientific Exploration: It is not appropriate to draw hasty conclusions about the existence of the legendary "wild people", but to seek conclusive scientific evidence through field investigations in order to reach correct results. In contrast to the vigorousness of the media, Captain Wang's words at that time were actually very low-key: this comprehensive ecological expedition was not a separate tracking of the large upright walking strange animals (locally known as "wild people" special animals) circulating in the area, it was important to understand whether there were "wild people" living conditions in Shennongjia, that is to say, to study the possibility of the existence of "wild people".

...... It can also be said that after that expedition, I have a normal mentality of looking at the "wild man" problem from a skeptic.
