In Dawa Street, Binhai District, along the West Street of the Yangtze River, the Red Revolution Memorial Hall marked with three large red characters on the side of the road is particularly eye-catching, which is the representative village of the "Bohai Corridor" coastal red village: Shiqiao Village, Qili Village, nanchen Village. During the revolutionary war years, the "Bohai Sea Corridor" connected the two major anti-Japanese base areas of Jiaodong and Qinghe, and was known as the "red communication line" of our party and our army.

The "Great Northern Depression" in the ninth district where these three villages are located has played an extremely important strategic role in the "corridor", and many revolutionary martyrs have sacrificed their lives to defend the party's "red traffic line". A few days ago, the reporter came to the streets of Dawa to relive this red history and trace the red revolutionary imprint of the martyrs.

"At the beginning of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, this area belonged to the ninth district of Shouguang County, and there were parts of present-day Yingkou Town, Shangkou Town, and Hou Town, with a total of 62 villages, also known as 'Beidawa'." Wang Chengye, one of the initiators of the Weifang Binhai Qingdong Red History Research Center, told reporters that during the most difficult period of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the "Beidawa" was an important part of the second side of our party's Shouwei and Shouwei County.

Wang Chengye introduced that in the spring of 1941, the northern coast of Shouguang, Weixian and Changyi Counties ( historically known as "Three Norths") located on the south bank of Laizhou Bay in the Bohai Sea was opened as an anti-Japanese base area. "The base area stretches from the Jiaolai River in the east to the northeast of Shouguang County in the west, which is the former ninth district of Shouguang, which is now The Dawa Subdistrict." Wang Chengye said that its core area is more than 120 miles long from east to west and less than 10 miles at its narrowest point, and is known as a lot with "a long line from east to west, and a shot through the north and south", and the two ends are respectively connected to Jiaodong and Qinghe anti-Japanese base areas.

"During the war years, the Shandong Branch of the CPC and the Jiaodong District Party Committee and other organs transported a large number of cadres, intelligence, gold, and military materials through this major transportation route, which was known as the 'Red Bohai Corridor' in the history of our party's War of Resistance." Wang Chengye told reporters.

"Since 1941, under the attack of the Japanese and the 15th Brigade of the Kuomintang Zhang Jingyue's Department, the situation of struggle has deteriorated, and the strategic space in the base areas has been compressed. At this time, the east-west narrow 'North Depression' was attacked on both sides, and the living environment facing it was very harsh. Wang Chengye said that this place is at the throat of the strategic passage of the "Bohai Sea Corridor", and the anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians led by the local Communist Party fought bloodily and guarded the smooth passage of the "Bohai Sea Corridor" with blood and life.

"The Japanese puppet regime built a blockade line of houyang highway connecting Giethoorn and Houzhen." Wang Chengye told reporters that the total length of the Houyang Highway is less than 100 miles from north to south, there is a blockade ditch dug on the west side of the road that is more than one person deep, telephone lines have been laid on the east side of the road, a number of artillery towers have been built along the line, and the enemy army has sent troops to patrol 24 hours a day.

In the face of the enemy's white terror, the Communist Party members and the masses of the people in "Beidawa" set up underground party organizations in Shiqiao Village, Nanchen Village, And Qili Village, secretly transported gold, weapons, and so on to the anti-Japanese base areas, and made important contributions to defending the strategic arteries of the "Red Bohai Sea Corridor."

Nearly 100 martyrs were arrested and killed during the war years

Here emerged Zhu Jianqiu, Wang Hong'ao and other heroic figures

In order to resist the Japanese and puppet invaders, in March 1940, the Shouguang County Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to establish the Ninth District Office and the Ninth District Squadron in Dawa.

Zhu Jianqiu, who came from a wealthy peasant family, was the first district chief and district squadron leader of Shouguang Ninth District. In 1933, when Zhu Jianqiu was the manager of the Jinan Yuxiang Silver, he was introduced to the Communist Party of China, and at that time, as a special bank manager, he actively worked for the party and propagated revolutionary ideas.

In order to form an anti-Japanese contingent, Zhu Jianqiu sold his property many times, and even knelt down to beg his mother to sell the fertile land of his ancestral industry and raise funds to buy guns and ammunition. Under his influence, many people in 'Beidawa' joined the Communist Party of China and embarked on the road of resisting Japan and saving the country. Wang Chengye said that Zhu Jianqiu laid a solid organizational and mass foundation for the formation of the "Bohai Sea Corridor" in the Beida Depression, "In 1942, Zhu Jianqiu, who was then the governor of Boxing County, died in a breakout battle at the age of 41. ”

As a secret traffic artery in the anti-Japanese base area, the party members of the "Great Northern Depression" hid their identities and carried out underground transportation liaison work. After being arrested, because they refused to leak anti-Japanese intelligence, many party members and masses were tortured to extract confessions and died heroically.

According to reports, in 1941, the traitor Sun Jiandao led the security brigade of the 15th Brigade to raid the village of Yushuyuanzi and arrest Wang Hong'ao, a financial and grain assistant in the ninth district of Shouguang. Wang Hong'ao was pierced through his collarbone by wire and taken to the Japanese stronghold at Daokou for trial. The enemy was soft and Wang Hong'ao, in a vain attempt to destroy the Bohai Sea Corridor anti-Japanese organization in one fell swoop after obtaining intelligence. But Wang Hong'ao stuck to his belief and refused to reveal half a word. The angry enemy inflicted torture such as sticking candles, burning incense and burning eyes, cutting meat with knives and rubbing salt, and finally, the steel tough man Wang Hong'ao was brutally killed by the enemy.'

Wang Chengye told reporters that in 1937, Chen Jingnan, who lived in Nanchen Village, was developed into the party by Zhu Jianqiu and later became the commander of the Qingdong special agent battalion. In 1939, the Qingdong Special Agent Battalion was ordered to open up anti-Japanese battlefields along the Bailanghe and Weihe rivers, and repeatedly inflicted heavy losses on the Japanese army. The following year, Chen Jingnan led his troops to attack japanese transport ships in the Weihe River channel, and unfortunately was surrounded by enemy troops. After the bullets ran out, in the face of the enemy troops surrounding them, Chen Jingnan and correspondent Chen Hongkui carried the hard-won guns on their backs, preferred to die rather than be captured, and did not hesitate to commit suicide by throwing themselves into the sea, and were praised by posterity as "the two warriors of weihe".

"Yuan Kongzheng, who refused to apostatize and was buried alive; Sun Yishun, who was heroic and fearless and was hacked to death by the Japanese army; Ma Jian, who preferred to die unyieldingly and was killed in public; Wang Conghou, who pulled out a grenade after being wounded and died with the Japanese and the hypocrites; Wang Shanqing, who was crushed by enemy tanks alive to cover the party organization..." Wang Chengye told reporters that in the "Great Northern Depression," dozens of revolutionary martyrs made heroic sacrifices for the anti-Japanese struggle to save the country.

The descendants of the martyrs invested more than one million yuan to build the Red History Museum

Tell a good red story to inherit the red gene

Due to its long history of being "highly secretive", there are few records of this history of the red "Bohai Sea Corridor" in the history of the Party and local history. However, 80 years ago, the heroic story of the martyrs who resisted Japan and saved the country in the "Great Northern Depression" was passed down from generation to generation among the villagers. How to start that long-sealed red history has become a major event that many martyrs and people cannot forget.

"Growing up listening to these revolutionary stories. As time passed, fewer and fewer people became aware of the heroic deeds of the martyrs, whose contributions to the revolution should not be forgotten. As future generations, we have the responsibility and obligation to let the younger generation understand this red history and know that our happy life today is not easy to come by. Zhu Shufeng, the 76-year-old chairman of Shandong Weifang Jinhui Industrial Co., Ltd., is the grandson of Zhu Jianqiu, and when it comes to the original intention of investing in the construction of the Red History Museum, he said so.

In 2015, under the initiative and organization of Zhu Shufeng, the Weifang Binhai Qingdong Red History Research Center was established, which began to sort out and excavate the historical stories related to the red "Bohai Sea Corridor" in Binhai, and to investigate and visit the deeds of key figures and revolutionary events.

At the same time, he invested more than one million yuan for the interview and collection of local red culture, and with the strong support and help of the local government and relevant departments, planned and participated in the construction of the Red Revolution Memorial Hall in Nanchen Village and Qili Village, and directly invested in the construction of the Bohai Corridor Coastal Memorial Hall located in Shiqiao Village. "Now, every day, students and citizens come to visit the memorial hall to understand the red history, learn the heroic deeds of the martyrs, and let the red gene be inherited." Zhu Shufeng told reporters, "Knowing the past can revitalize the future, our happy life today is not easy to come by, it is the ancestors who exchanged blood for it, only by constantly moving forward, working harder to develop and build a good hometown, can we live up to their expectations." ”

For eighty years, the heroic deeds of the martyrs have not been forgotten. In Nanchen Village, every year during the Qingming Festival, villagers spontaneously come to the village committee to tie wreaths for the martyrs in the village and solemnly send them to the martyrs' cemetery. In the seven decades since the founding of the People's Republic of China, this commemoration has never been interrupted.

Today's "Beidawa" has built a piece of high-rise buildings, and the villagers have also bid farewell to the "dime" saline-alkali land life, factories and enterprises are connected into pieces, and rice has been planted on the saline-alkali land, and the villagers' lives are getting better and better. "On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, we will hold the opening ceremony of the 'Bohai Corridor' Coastal Revolution Memorial Hall, hoping that the red gene here can spread farther." Zhu Shufeng said.
