At the turn of the spring and summer of that year, Tang Bohu took a boat to the Chibi ruins in Hubei Province, which was the place where Sun Quan and Liu Bei combined forces to break Cao Cao's army in the thirteenth year of Jian'an at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty (208 AD). In the past, Tang Bohu only roughly understood the whole process of the battle after reading Sima Guang's "The Battle of Chibi", but after all, it was a literary story. Now immersed in the scene, looking at the river rolling water, terrifying waves, thinking of the year on the river, the warships are dense, the golden iron horse, the shouting and killing, the Cao camp is connected to the ship, the fire is soaring, the great war finally ended with the defeat of the Cao army, thus establishing the situation of the Three Kingdoms. Thousands of years apart, although the shadow of the sword and light sword dimmed and the drums and horns fought far away, the tragic war scene still reverberated in Tang Bohu's mind.
After looking at the Chibi Ancient Battlefield, tang Bohu had to stay for ten and a half days every time he went to a place, and the longest was about a month. Why? Tang Bohu, who was in his prime, did not want to rest because of fatigue, but he had to recreate the sketches of the places he had passed, and at the same time he had to write some travelogues and anecdotes everywhere he went. It was also during this period that Tang Bohu created many precious paintings that have been passed down to the world. Among them, there are mainly "Riding a Donkey back to The Picture", "Autumn Wind Fan Diagram", "Li DuanDuan Diagram", "First Marriage Diagram", "Mountain Road Song Sound Map", etc., forming the peak of his work at that stage. Each of his paintings must have an inscription, and the signature of the fall is also different. For example, his painting "Riding a Donkey back to Si Tu" wrote About Tang Yin of Wu County; and his "Autumn Wind Fan Diagram" wrote Jinchang Tang Yin according to his ancestral home; his "Diagram of the Marriage of the First Dynasty" was directly signed tang Yin and so on. Looking closely at Tang Bohu's paintings, most of them do not write the date and month, so the time of his painting creation can only be roughly judged.
After twenty days of traveling to Chibi, Tang Bohu came to Hunan again and climbed the Yueyang Tower, one of the three famous buildings in Jiangnan (the other two famous buildings are: the Huanghe Tower in Wuhan, Hubei Province, and the Tengwang Pavilion in Nanchang, Jiangxi). On the upper floor of Yueyang, Tang Bohu overlooked the vast Dongting Lake, sparkling and dotted with fishing sails. Junshan Island in the distance is clearly visible, and its beautiful scenery and wide field of view are really intoxicating. At this time, he couldn't help but think of the "Record of Yueyang Lou" written by the Northern Song Dynasty literary scholar Fan Zhongyan, and many famous sentences in the text were still in his ears. For example, "The distant mountains, swallowing the Yangtze River", Liao Liao wrote the beauty of Dongting Lake in a few words; "do not rejoice in things, do not grieve with oneself", and also did his best to do the ups and downs of his career and the vicissitudes of the world; the famous sentence of "the worries of the world before the world, and the happiness of the world after the world" have inspired the people of the world to ascend to the heights and look far, look at the full amount, have a long way to go, and be positive. Tang Bohu recalled his personal encounters, read the teachings of his ancestors, felt a thousand emotions, and suddenly opened his heart. Then, with his magical brush, he quickly painted a "Landscape Map" and inscribed the following poem:
Evening clouds and bright leaks, spring water green floating mountains.
The half-drunk donkey walked slowly, between the yellow leaves in the cave garden.
Walking down the Yueyang Tower, Tang Bohu visited the Three Drunken Pavilion, Xianmei Pavilion, Erqiao Tomb and other scenic spots, without further elaboration.
Nanyue Hengshan Mountain is a must-see place for tourists and inkers. A few days later, Tang Bohu climbed the Hengshan Mountain at an altitude of 1300 meters, which was in early summer, the mountains were verdant, the forests were cultivated with bamboo, strange flowers and grasses, and rich fragrance. Here, Tang Bohu enjoyed a different scenery from Yueyang Tower and Dongting Lake. On this day, he was sketching mountain views, and after an old Taoist man watched it, he praised Tang Bohu's painting skills and praised him, saying, "There are such tall people in the world!" And invited Tang Bohu to our museum for a talk. This invitation reminded Tang Bohu that this place was the holy place of the Quanzhen Sect in the mainstream of Taoism. Therefore, he also unceremoniously followed the old Daoist into his treasure temple, only to see that the golden wall of the inner hall of the temple was brilliant, tall and majestic, full of smoke, people came and went, and pilgrims continued. In order to show his sincerity, Tang Bohu also bought three incense sticks and lit them to kneel and pray, and then followed the old Daoist into the side hall to sit down. From the names of those people, I know that this old Dao is not small in history, it is for the Dao Chief, the Dao number is Jing Ci, and there are servants on the left and right, which is very grand.
After watching the tea and sitting down, the Dao Chief asked Tang Bohu who was the person? Who does the articulate follow? Tang Bohu answered truthfully, and the Dao Commander frequently nodded his head in praise. During the chat, Jing Ci Daoist talked about the origin and purpose of Taoism, and the new doctrine made Tang Bohu feel fresh and received different teachings. It turned out that this Quanzhen sect of Taoism had an extraordinary origin, adhering to the teachings of Lao Tzu and Zhuangzi, with the purpose of suffering oneself and self-interest, starting from the founding master Zu WangZi (Dao number Chongyangzi), after the Han and Sui and Tang dynasties had declined several times, and after Han Zhongli and Lü Dongbin taught Jin Dan Kou tips, they gradually declined after the revival. Later, in the Yuan Dynasty, The Quanzhen Taoist Sect rose up in the northern grasslands. Genghis Khan recruited seven disciples, including Ma Yu, Tan Chuduan, Liu Chuxuan, Qiu Chuji, Wang Chu, Hao Datong, and Sun Bu'er, who were known as the "Seven Sons of Quanzhen" and prospered for a while. The north gradually developed southwards, led by Qiu Chuji, forming two factions, the north and the south, and declined to the north of the dynasty, but the Quanzhen sect of The Southern Yue Heng Mountain flourished and became a holy place. Listening to Jing Ci Dao's narration, Tang Bohu, who had been wandering and undecided, actually had the idea of converting to Taoism. He thought that it was possible to return to the hidden and have sustenance, but it did not affect the writing and painting, which was really the beauty of both worlds. That night, he accepted the Taoist chief's retention, stayed overnight in the Taoist Temple, and created a "Mountain Residence Map", in which he inscribed a poem to praise the Dao chief and express his inner yearning. The poem reads as follows:
Secluded deep in the blue mountain sky, the stream can be walked sideways.
Taro millet a garden in autumn counting enough, servants a hundred fingers to rule the same.
The short wall is rocky and the thin wine is full of altars.
I wanted to go with buju, and this body was red with dust.
After breakfast the next day, Tang Bohu presented the freshly painted "Mountain Residence Map" to The Dao Commander Jingci, who, after seeing Bi Da's praise, laughed and said, "Tang Painter, I look at your facial features, you have superiority." Imhoscence for saying bluntly, although you are in line with the purpose of this path of 'suffering oneself and benefiting others', you can see from the eyebrows that you are not finished, you still have all kinds of things to do, and your mind cannot be quiet, so it is not appropriate to enter the Tao. Tang Bohu listened to the dismissal and asked the chief, "Please ask the Dao commander to teach me, how should I take Tang Yin's road in the future?" The Daoist commander said: "You have no connection with the official, nor should you be an official, you should continue to display your talents in the people, perhaps you yourself do not know, the future generations will certainly respect your talents as the crown of the Great Ming, the poor Dao as the ancestor of the Quanzhen Sect, the ancestors are on the top, my words will be true, you can go with confidence!" ”
Listening to the guidance of Jing Ci Dao, Tang Bohu dispelled the idea of conversion and continued to start his next journey. About a month later, Tang Bohu came to Wuyi Mountain and Jiuli Lake in northwestern Fujian. Wuyi Mountain is a typical Danxia landform, the magic of nature, so that there are many strange peaks, beautiful and spectacular, known as "Qixiujia Southeast" is worthy of the name. The strange peaks and strange grasses made Tang Bohu feast his eyes. The Nine Carp Lake, located in the territory of Putian, is famous for its lakes, caves, waterfalls and stone four wonders, known as the "Nine Carp Flying Waterfall World Wonders", which makes Tang Bohu more lingering. There, he spent the midsummer of Hongzhi for thirteen years, until the autumn was cool, and then he turned from Fujian to Zhejiang and traveled to Yandang Mountain and Tiantai Mountain. After that, he crossed the sea to the Zhoushan Islands, to Putuo Mountain on the southern edge of Hangzhou Bay, and came to this place where the legendary Guanyin Bodhisattva taught sentient beings. In the Fuchun River and Xin'an River, Tang Bohu reveled in the green mountains and green waters there, and relived the Tang Dynasty poet Zhang Ruoxuan's "Spring River Flower Moon Night", and had a feeling of his own. He decided to stay for a few days, let himself relax, and then take a boat back to Huangshan and Jiuhuashan in Anhui. Just when Tang Bohu was fascinated by the scenery of Huangshan Mountain, the money in his pocket was not much, if the paintings were sold now, the place was full of guests from other towns, coming and going in a hurry, and there were not many people buying. Therefore, he had no choice but to stop and return to Suzhou. This Jiangnan talent, on a cool autumn morning after nine months of grand travel, dragged his tired body and carried a large cloth bag, and finally returned to his home in Suzhou.
Tang Bohu came back this time, and the last time he rushed back to the exam is very different, the last time he came back people were very depressed, this time although people were emaciated, but the spirit is still very optimistic, many neighbors have come to see him, Tang Bohu also talked and laughed with the neighbors. When his younger brother Tang Shen and his daughter-in-law heard that their brother had returned, they also stopped their business and rushed to see their brother. Tang Bohu told his brother that although he did not earn money this time, the harvest was still full. His brother asked strangely, "Brother, you said that the harvest is full, where is the harvest?" Tang Bohu pointed to the large cloth bag and said, "All in this cloth bag, it is all paintings and sketches, and it will be re-created into paintings later." His brother was busy instructing his daughter-in-law to make a fire to cook for his brother. While drinking, Tang Bohu asked, "What happened to that Tang San?" Can you borrow it for a while? After the brother goes out to sell paintings, someone at home will take care of it. If there is no one in the family, it will be like the last time, you give your brother twenty-two pieces of silver, and the brother only put two or two pieces of silver out, and the rest will be wrapped up by bad women surnamed He. Only then did Tang Shen know that his brother had been out for eight or nine months and had left home empty-handed.
Tang Shen said, "Tomorrow I will let Tang San come over and help my brother take care of the housework, but Tang San has now been named Tang Xing, he is very diligent, and when his brother marries his sister-in-law, Tang Xing will give it to me." After the meal, Tang Shen sent ten silver to his brother, and said that the hotel business was also very flat, or he could give his brother a little more, and Tang Bohu was short of money in his hand and accepted it. He said to his brother, "In the future, you can run it well, and if your brother can't earn money, he won't want you to give money, and this family will be completely divided." "Next, how should Tang Bohu's road go?" And listen to me as I go down.
