On the 27th, in the Tokyo Paralympic Women's Epee Team Final at the Makuhari Exhibition Hall in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, the Chinese team composed of Rong Jing, Bian Jing and Tan Shumei defeated the Ukrainian team 40-17 to win the Paralympic Championship of the event for three consecutive times. So far, Rong Jing won her fifth Paralympic gold medal, Bian Jing won her second gold medal at the Paralympic Games, and Tan Shumei became the first player to win three gold medals at the Paralympic Games.

Rong Jing: A rare good swordsman

Rong Jing was born in 1988 to an ordinary peasant family in Huachong Town, Shuyang County, Suqian City, Jiangsu Province, with limited mobility in her right leg due to polio. In 2004, he entered the Jiangsu Provincial Wheelchair Fencing Team to engage in fencing. As an athlete on the Chinese wheelchair fencing team, her main disciplines are epee and foil. At the London Paralympic Games, Rong Jing won a team gold medal with her teammates on the Paralympic stage for the first time. At the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, she was also honored to be the standard-bearer of the Chinese delegation at the opening ceremony. In the competition, she won three consecutive gold medals in the Epee Individual, the Sabre A Class Individual and the Epee Team.

The Tokyo Paralympic Games is Rong Jing's third time to embark on the Paralympic Games. The 33-year-old veteran remains motivated. On 26 August, she reached the final in the women's A-class epee individual in wheelchair fencing, but in the final, she defeated the Hungarian player by three swords and won a silver medal. But she quickly adjusted her mentality, played steadily, and threw herself into the epee team game with her teammates. She played well and won this valuable team gold medal with her teammates.

Rong Jing's coach commented: "Rong Jing in the fierce competition of major competitions, in the face of Ru Lin's strong hands, not only dare to fight, but also calm and calm, is a rare good swordsman. ”

But Rong Jing has a clear positioning: there is no winning general on the sports field. If you want to surpass yourself, you need to work hard a hundred times and a thousand times.

Bian Jing: Touching the Paralympic field

In the first matchday of the Tokyo Paralympic Games, China's Bian Jing led the way, beating Georgia 15-7 to win the gold medal. In this game, Bian Jing not only showed strong strength, but also showed the quality of humility and fraternity. After the game, when she saw that it was inconvenient for her opponent to leave the competition table, she took the initiative to help her push the wheelchair. Bian Jing said: "Passing on friendship and showing the good image of Chinese athletes is what I should do. ”

At the 2016 Rio Olympics, bian Jing could only participate in epee due to the lack of women's sabre events, and she only won a silver medal. After the Rio Paralympic Games, Bian Jing chose to retire, but her character of not accepting defeat once again awakened her desire to participate in the Paralympic Games. This time, she competed in the Paralympic Games again, and finally won the gold medal in the A-class final of the women's wheelchair sabre individual competition, and then won the gold medal of the epee team, realizing her Olympic gold medal dream.

After the game, Bian Jing said: "When the dream is realized, there is an urge in my heart to cry, but I feel that I still have to continue to work hard. ”

Tan Shumei: Life has changed because of fencing

At this Paralympic Games, Tan Shumei is undoubtedly the most dazzling athlete since the beginning of the competition: within three days, she first won the wheelchair fencing women's sabre individual B championship, then won the women's epee individual B championship, and then cooperated with the team members to win the women's epee team gold medal.

Tan Shumei, 32, from Shaoyang, Hunan Province, suffered an accidental high-altitude fall in 2012 that left her spine damaged, her lower body unconscious, and her second-degree disability, which completely changed her life. The strong Tan Shumei did not sink because of the pain, she actively treated, and in 2013, she was introduced to the Shanghai Sports Training Center for the Disabled to practice fencing. In April 2015, Tan Shumei represented the Shaanxi team in the 9th National Paralympic Games and won two consecutive silver medals in the wheelchair fencing competition. At the 2019 World Championships in Wheelchair Fencing in South Korea, Tan Shumei won four gold medals in the women's sabre individual, epee individual, sabre team and epee team. After that World Championship, Tan Shumei said that her biggest dream is to sprint to the Paralympic Championship. Today, Tan Shumei has done it.

"Whenever the national anthem is played, I think I can also represent the country in the competition. It can be said that wheelchair fencing has changed my life. Tan Shumei said.
