Shanghai, February 17 (China News Service) -- Fan Ruijuan, a famous Chinese Yue opera performance artist and inheritor of national intangible cultural heritage, died in Shanghai Huadong Hospital on February 17 at the age of 93.

Fan Ruijuan is the founder of the Yue opera "Fan Pai" art. In 1935, he entered the Longfeng Stage to study drama, and was a small student, and then performed in Shanghai with Yao Shuijuan, Xing Zhuqin, and other "Yuesheng Stage". In 1945, Fan Ruijuan and Yuan Xuefen performed "The History of Liang Zhu Lamentation" for the first time at the Nine Star Grand Theatre, and pioneered the "string downture" of Yue opera, making important contributions to the development of Yue opera genres.

Fan Ruijuan sings in a simple and honest voice, performs steadily and generously, has a masculine beauty, and is known as "Liang Shanbo" because of her role in Yue opera "Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai".

It is reported that Fan Ruijuan left a will before her death, did not hold a memorial service, and did not set up a spiritual hall. (End)
