People who are familiar with Mr. Lu Xun's literary experience know that Mr. Lu Xun and Xi'an did have an indissoluble relationship. On July 21, 1924, Mr. Lu Xun was invited by Fu Tong, then president of Northwest University, to give a lecture at the university for 10 days (including a lecture to the Wu tang), and his lecture content was mainly "The Historical Changes of the Chinese Novel", which was later included in his book "Outline of the History of Chinese Novels". In addition to his lectures in Xi'an, he often patronized the Nanyuan Gate, the Forest of Steles, the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, qujiang, and the Jianfu Temple, so that many Xi'an citizens began to know that there was an old man surnamed Zhou from Beijing in this ancient city. Cao Gaosheng, the general manager of the Runtu Hotel in my hometown where I live, is a true Lu fan. He was born in 1968 in a remote village called Cheng Cao Village on the outskirts of Weinan Province, and he is my age and has a similar experience. In the 1980s, the countryside of Weinan was still very poor, and whenever the night was quiet, he would lie in the watermelon field and look at the sky and count the stars, and he repeatedly pondered, If I continue like this, I will not change anymore, maybe it is Lu Xun's leaping earth, Lu Yao's Gao Garin. Although Gaugarin entered the city, he was eventually driven back by the city due to his own speculation and worldliness. This is not only a contradiction between people, but also a confrontation between the city and the countryside. And to truly change himself, or to change the fate of his family's hometown, he must choose to go to the city. It seems that only when he enters the city will he say goodbye to the life of the leap earth.
Cao Gaosheng thought of his uncle in Xi'an. He wrote to his uncle, hoping that he would find him a job in the city, preferably a contract worker. At that moment, he felt very scared and inferior, worse than Yan Tu shouting in front of Lu Xun, and more miserable than Kong Yiji dragging his stump leg and drinking on credit. That night, he saw that the stars in the sky were terrible, and how much he wanted to pour out in front of his mother about the pain of the grievance. However, his stubborn character tells him that he must be like Lu Yao said, no one in this world can bring himself down unless he is knocked down by himself.
Cao Gaosheng resigned, and he chose to go it alone, raising money to build a food factory, engage in real estate, and build a hotel. In the second-floor restaurant of the Hometown Runtu Hotel, Cao Gaosheng and I drank wine and listened to him tell his entrepreneurial story. I asked him, you have been in the city for 34 years since you came into town in 1987, do you think you are a successful person? Cao Gaosheng said that he has always had the dream of going to college since he was a child, and for various reasons, he only went to high school and returned to the village to work as a farmer. During his school days, the most he read in textbooks was Lu Xun's works. What impressed him the most was Mr. Mister's prose novel "Hometown". The novel was written in January 1921, exactly 100 years after its publication. For a long time, he felt that he was the "tall boy with a silver hoop and a steel fork in his hand."

I haven't felt like I've been living in Xi'an for more than a month. On the days when I often had small gatherings with Cao Gaosheng, I often felt that he had an indescribable hidden pain. I asked him, your career has been accomplished, do you have anything to worry about? Cao Gaosheng said that he was not worried about anything now, he had two fears. One is afraid to look at the stars at night, as soon as he sees the stars, he thinks of his hometown and thinks of the poor days of watching watermelons. Moreover, he was afraid to return to his hometown. Hometown and hometown are not the same, parents are at home, now parents are gone, every time back to the door of the courtyard of the hometown, the legs and stomach are weak. A person, no matter how successful you are on the outside, most wants to let their parents share it with you. Although his parents were there, he created the best conditions for them, but when his parents really left, his heart was still empty. Cao Gaosheng often asked himself, is the village called Cheng Cao Village still his own? Can I go back?
Cao Gaosheng's words made me cry bitterly. Yes, we are all once leaping earth, and today we have grown up, where should our hearts be fixed in the emotional wandering of the city and the countryside at the turn of the century? No one tells us the answer, and perhaps there will never be an answer.
