Today (October 29), the first cast of the Netflix TV drama version of "Three-Body Problem", adapted from Liu Cixin's novel of the same name, was announced, with a total of 12 actors. Netflix only released the cast, not revealing any details about the show's characters.

Liu Cixin's science fiction novel "The Three-Body Problem" tells the story of what happens when humans discover that we are not alone in the universe and are ready to deal with extraterrestrial forces from distant and desolate worlds. The "three-body" refers to the alien star system, which consists of three stars orbiting each other, and between them an Earth-like planet is constantly subjected to extreme heat and cold temperatures, repeatedly destroying its intelligent civilization.
The Netflix TV series version of "Three-Body Problem" was created by Game of Thrones creator David Benioff &D.B. Weiss and Alexander Ng, and directed by Hong Kong director Tsang Kwok-cheung. Liu Cixin and English translator Liu Yukun are the consultant producers.
