The black version of Superman, which had been rumored before, seemed to have recently come to a conclusion, And Michael B. Jordan will play a black superman from Earth 2 named Val-Zod, rather than directly turning Kal-El, or Clark Kent, into a black man.

In February of this year, there was an uproar when it came to warner bros. that it wanted to introduce a black superman in the next DCEU superman film, and then in May, there was a certain news that this superman would be a black version of Carl-Eyre.

Then in July, Michael M. B. Jordan is designated as the black version of Superman, and just when people are anxious about Superman's skin color changes, new news comes out that he will be Val Zod. The script has now been finalized for Darnell Metayer and Josh Peters, who have just teamed up to complete the script for the latest Transformers movie, Rise of the Beasts.

Val-Zod first appeared in Earth 2 #19 in 2014 and is set as one of the survivors of the destruction of Krypton. The "Zod" in his name is reminiscent of The famous villain General Zod, who was originally Superman, but in the world of Earth 2 he doesn't seem to have anything to do with General Zod.

Val-Zod is a Kryptonian orphan whose biological parents are not mentioned. Before krypton was destroyed, he was counted by Carl-Al's parents as Carl-Al's brother. Kara Zor-El, the famous Supergirl and Superman's cousin/sister, is also orphaned in this world and thus becomes a good friend of Val-Zod— who seems to have no distinction in skin color or race on Krypton.

At the time of Krypton's destruction, Val-Zod, like Carl Eyre and Carla, is sent to Earth in a spaceship, but like Carla, he takes longer to travel through the universe, much later than Carl Al before reaching Earth (which makes Carla change from Superman's original cousin to a cousin).

Val-Zod arrives on Earth much later, Superman has already been killed in battle with the Apocalypse, and he learns a lot about peace during his travels, resolutely opposing violence, so he chooses to hide himself when he arrives on Earth.

Steppenwolf then attacks Earth with a superhuman clone named Brutaal, who pretends to be Superman to kill Steppenwolf, but begins to slaughter Earth 2's superheroes in a vain attempt to conquer Earth.

The remaining Heroes of Earth seek all sorts of help to stop Brutal, and thanks to the efforts of Batman (this Batman was Bruce Wayne's father, Thomas Wayne, who did not die in a robbery in the alley, and Bruce died during the Apocalypse invasion, he took over Batman) and Louise Lane, finally discovered another Kryptonian on Earth, Val Zod.

Although a pacifist, Val-Zod is willing to fight for peace, and he disguises himself in the superhuman suit and defeats carl-El's clone. After that, Val-Zod became the new Superman of Earth 2.

Now, Val-Zod is likely to enter the DCEU, but the specific form has not yet been determined, and the upcoming Flash and Batman films do not know whether it will have anything to do with it, after all, after the chaos of Zach Schneider, Warner Bros. does not seem to have much confidence in rebuilding an MCU-style DCEU, but is loosely promoting the film plan.
