On May 24, 2019, Professor Wei Jian, a member of the Archaeology Section Review Group of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Northern Ethnic Groups of Chinese Min University, director of the Department of Archaeology and Literature, vice president of the Chinese Yuan History Research Association, vice president of the Chinese Rock Painting Society, visiting researcher of the Ancient Civilization Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and doctoral supervisor, gave two lectures for the teachers and students of our institute entitled "Archaeological Observations on the Military Defense System of the Warring States and Han Dynasties in the Hetao Region" and "Archaeological Observations on the Status of military towns in the Six Towns of Northern Wei".

The lecture analyzed the basic situation of the Great Wall, ruins, tombs, Gao Que Sai and Jilu Sai in the Hetao area during the Warring States, Qin and Han Dynasties, and confirmed that the war in the Hetao area was short-lived, and peace was the mainstream at that time; through the archaeological examination of the six towns of the Northern Wei Dynasty, it was concluded that with the ancient city of Krimeng as the center, the six towns were divided into three towns in the east and west, and the six towns in the north of Yinshan were hierarchical and hierarchically distributed military defense system. At the same time, Professor Wei Jian also explained the value of the existence of China's 5,000-year civilization history, the influence of the northern nationalities on the pattern of China's pluralism and integration, and the relationship between the Ming Great Wall and national borders, and improved the students' theoretical understanding from a methodological point of view.
