Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama won a Grammy Award for the first time for an audio version of her best-selling memoir, Becoming. This is the third time the Obama family has won a Grammy Award.

China News Network quoted the US Chinese Network as reporting that in 2006 and 2008, Michelle's husband Barack Obama won the Grand Grammy Award for Best Reading Album for his memoirs "My Father's Dream" and "Fearless Hope".

It is reported that Michelle did not attend the Gran Mercé awards ceremony.

Since its release, Michelle's memoir "Becoming," has sold more than 10 million copies.

The memoir traces Michelle's years at the White House and traces her relationship with the city of Chicago.

Michelle isn't the only former First Lady to win the Grammys for Best Reading Album. Hillary Clinton won the award in 2003 for "History In Person."
