At first, Li Shimin sent Hou Junji to attack Gao Changguo, and Hou Junji attacked it, destroying the city wall and finally breaking through Gao Changguo. "However, it is quite a small achievement to try to destroy the two countries." For the sake of His Majesty, he begged a son to keep the sacrifice. ”
Hou Junji hoped that Li Shimin would be able to release his son with kindness for the sake of the merits he had built before. In the end, Li Shimin did indeed do so. Not only did he release his son, but he also released his wife. These two beautiful women were found in his home and were also considered to be Hou Junji's wives, so it is likely that they were exiled to Lingnan after the end of shou filial piety.
Therefore, in my opinion, the possibility of Li Shimin killing these two beautiful women is still very small. Because Li Shimin did not have the determination to kill Hou Junji at the beginning, in his opinion, Hou Junji had also fought with him, so he could not bear to kill him. In this regard, he also went to the chancellor to intercede with Hou Junji. However, the ministers of the DPRK and China all felt that Hou Junji had committed many evil deeds and could not stay. Li Shimin was also helpless in the face of such a situation. Eventually, one of Hou Junji's sons and his wife were left behind.
There is no specific description of their ending in history, but in any case, their fate is tragic, and their value is reflected in the attachment to Hou Junji. The so-called one glory and one loss, Hou Junji can shield them from the wind and rain when he is alive, but when Hou Junji is beheaded, they can only listen to the fall. This is also the sadness of ancient women, who in many cases were unable to decide their own destiny.
