Chairman Mao's special love affair with actress Wang Renmei

In July 1957, at a forum in Shanghai attended by Zhao Dan, Luo Jinan, and other well-known figures in the literary and art circles, Mao Zedong asked with great interest whether the female film star Wang Renmei, who played "The Song of Fishing Light," had come? And talked about Wang Renmei's father as his teacher.

This Wang Renmei can be described as a big name, and was once the first of the "Four Heavenly Kings" of the old Shanghai performing arts industry. Wang Renmei was born on November 8, 1914 in Changsha, his ancestral home is Liuyang, Hunan, his father is Wang Zhengshu, No. 1, when he was a teacher in the Hunan First Division, he was a teacher of Mao Zedong, Zhou Shizhao (who was the vice governor of Hunan Province after liberation) and other teachers.

Mingyue Society is a very famous folk song and dance group in Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s, and the founder is Mr. Lai Kam Hui. Mr. Li wrote in the article "I and mingyue society": "In the course of the mingyue society, because each stage must adapt to the environment, the name of the society is not the same, there are seven titles such as the small song and dance department attached to the language, the Chinese song and dance school, the Chinese song and dance troupe, the Mingyue song and dance troupe, the Lianhua song and dance troupe, the Mingyue song and dance drama society, and the mingyue opera society. Mingyue Society was the cradle of Shanghai stars at that time, and Mr. Li once recalled with great satisfaction: "Mingyue Society has a lot of talents, singing and dancing have Li (Li Minghui, Li Lili) Wang (Wang Renmei) Zhou (Zhou Xuan) Bai (Bai Hong), and composing has ear (Nie Er) Art (Wang Renyi) string (Zhang String) spring (Zhang Gong). "During this period, it can really be said that the bright moon is hanging high and the stars are brilliant. As a result, among the "Bright Moon", there were "Four Heavenly Kings" rising, they were: Wang Renmei, Li Lili, Xue Lingxian and Hu Di.

Wang Renmei and Li Lili have starred in many movies, and they are extremely popular, so together with Ruan Lingyu and Chen Yanyan, they are known as the "Four Famous Dans of Lianhua".

In One of the most outstanding films of old China, "The Song of Fishing Light", Wang Renmei played the rugged and healthy fisherman's female kitten. Filming began in 1933 and premiered at the Shanghai Jincheng Grand Theatre on June 14, 1934, at a time when Shanghai had a rare summer heat in the past sixty years, and it actually set a record of eighty-four consecutive days. In May of the following year, "The Fisherman's Song" participated in the International Film Festival held by the Soviet Film Workers' Club in Moscow. At this film festival, which has representatives and films from 31 countries participating, "Fisherman's Light Song" won the Honorary Award, becoming the first film in China to receive international honors. "Fishing Light Song" won Wang Renmei a high honor, and also made her known as a "wild cat" ever since.

Wang Renmei's mother had ten children, Wang Renmei's nickname was Slender, and she was the youngest child in the family. His father, Wang Zhengshu, was a well-known mathematics teacher at Hunan First Normal School, and he was very fond of Mao Runzhi, who was his student at the time, and often praised him in front of the children, saying that he was hardworking, hardworking, talented, insightful, and so on. In addition, several of Wang Renmei's brothers are classmates with Mao Runzhi, so Mao Runzhi's relationship with their family is also extraordinary. One summer, Mao Runzhi lived in their home. At that time, Wang Renmei's home was next to the Tianxin Pavilion in Changsha.

Wang Renmei talked about her home in her memory in the book "My Fame and Misfortune": "The house we live in is used by the Hunan warlord Ye Kaixin in the front, and the back is used by us and the two families surnamed Chen. On weekdays, they don't interfere with each other. The last small building we entered, we called it the back building, which was where the brothers read and rested. Because it is at the end of the house, it is very quiet, it also has a small door, outside the door leads to the high ancient city wall, there is a Tianxin Pavilion on the wall... When I was a child, the noon cannon pavilion of Tianxin Pavilion fired cannons every day, and the sound of the cannons was equivalent to telling us that lunch time had arrived. During the Chongyang Festival, my father took us to the Tianxin Pavilion to look at Changsha and beyond, talking about the changes in mountains and rivers from ancient times to the present. ”

When Mao Runzhi lived in Wang Renmei's house, Wang Renmei was still very young, and she said that when she first met Mao Runzhi, Mao Runzhi also picked her up and asked her what her name was, how old she was, and so on. Wang Renmei vaguely remembered that Mao Runzhi and her brothers often went out through the small gate and went up the Tianxin Pavilion along the city wall. There were several forts on the left and right of the pavilion, and he liked to sit on the pedestals, talking about the rise and fall of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, talking about the shortcomings of today's society, talking about the impassioned places, and liked to stride back and forth. Once, he overlooked the mighty Xiang River and recited several poems of the ancients. When Mao Runzhi lived in her house, he also made a small mistake: "He took water to wash his face before going to bed, and there was not much water in the jar, because there was still a sealed fire in the stove, so there must be some water in the jar, otherwise the tin can would dry out and crack." Our changsha stove is very common, but Mao Runzhi lacks common sense in this regard, he scooped up the water, did not know how to add water, and the next morning the iron can exploded. Yi Yi muttered behind his back, saying that he was a nerd and didn't even understand Tian Shui. ”

Wang Renmei's marriage was very bumpy, her first husband was a golden flame known as the "emperor of movies", and the latter two divorced. Ten years after the divorce, Wang Renmei married a second husband---- painter Ye Qianyu. They married in 1955, when Ye Qianyu was 47 and Wang Renmei was 41. After the second time she became a family, Wang Renmei was not in good health for a long time. In July 1957, when Mao Zedong asked her about her little compatriot and little sister at a forum of famous people in the literary and art circles, she was once again ill, and it was very serious, and she was sent to the hospital for treatment. In 1987, Wang Renmei died. (Liu Jixing)
