In 1980, in order to change the house, Wang Renmei rode to the housing management office many times. On May 12, she suddenly fell and was speechless as she got out of the car. He was rushed to Union Hospital for medical treatment and was diagnosed with cerebral thrombosis. After a month of treatment, he still has hemiplegia on the left side of his body and stiff joints in his upper and lower limbs. After another three months, he was able to get out of bed and move with crutches and be discharged home. At this time, the Ye house on the West Street of the Big Buddha Temple has been changed to No. 24 Ganyu Hutong, and the house is quite spacious, but Wang Renmei's mood can't calm down. She thinks the floor is dilapidated, the gate is rotten, and the housing management office is endless. At the same time, he asked people everywhere to seek medical treatment, and he was eager to immediately cure his stiffened left hand and left foot.

As a result, the more anxious it is, the more difficult it is to treat, and the more difficult it is to treat, the more anxious it is, so that the temperament is perverse, and the slightest dissatisfaction will be scolded. The aunts at home changed and changed like a marquee, the neighbors whispered, and even the neighborhood committee came forward to speak. Ye Qianyu had no choice but to accommodate everything, comfort each other with good words, and avoid making a big noise and alarming the neighbors.

In the spring of 1986, the southern section of Ganyu Hutong was demolished. According to the agreement, Ye Qianyu moved to the studio of the Chinese Painting Research Institute to live temporarily, and Wang Renmei temporarily moved to the guest house of Beijing Film Studio. Ye Qianyu went to Beiying to visit every week, and Wang Renmei often went to the painting academy to see her husband.

On December 4 of this year, Ye Qianyu suddenly received a phone call, saying that Wang Renmei suddenly fell on the way back to the guest house from the infirmary and was delirious, and is now being rescued by Jishuitan Hospital. Ye Qianyu rushed to the hospital and saw that Wang Renmei's eyes were closed, her whole body was paralyzed, and she couldn't speak. Doctors diagnosed a cerebral hemorrhage.

After Lu En heard about it, he went to the hospital to visit, Wang Renmei had become a vegetative person, and she didn't know anything but breathing. Her eyes were open, and she couldn't speak. Lu En remembered that in the thirties and forties, when Wang Renmei was brilliant, he sang the "March of the Volunteers" in "Children of the Storm" and sang the theme song of the same name in "Yuguang Song", which was later changed into a symphony in Japan. Now the singer is in bed, and the singing is far away, and it has become a swan song.
