Recently, I listened to Zuo Li's "One Man's Long March" report speech and enjoyed a rare spiritual feast.
Over the years, there have not been many people who have re-embarked on the Long March, and Fei Hongge, who is particularly familiar with me, completed this feat the year before. But there is only one person like Zuo Li who is so literary and artistic, and who carries such a mission, and who can produce so many outputs. Because of his professional identity as a senior journalist, he was able to photograph the grass and trees on the Long March road from multiple angles and in an all-round way, and traced the mottled and unforgettable history through everything along the way.
Teacher Zuo Li's sharing focuses on awakening people's exploration of the spirit of the Long March. To tell the truth, today's narration of the Long March is really too little, generation after generation, the memories of the Long March are becoming more and more understated, only to know that it is very difficult and tragic, but to what extent, it has not been quantified and deepened, and these gradually forgotten are precisely what we should cherish the most.
In 2009, a book "1000 Years of Mankind" by the American Times Life Publishing House recorded three things that happened in China in the process of human civilization for thousands of years.
1. 1100 AD, the invention of gunpowder weapons.
2. 1211 AD, the empire of Genghis Khan.
3. 1934 AD, Long March.
Peeling back the dust of history and talking about the Long March, we must at least start from the founding of the Communist Party, from the first congress of the Communist Party of China, through the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, the April 12 counter-revolutionary coup, then the Nanchang Uprising, the Jinggangshan Meeting, the failure of the anti-encirclement and suppression, until the Long March. I am very familiar with this story line, because I have read General Jin Yinan's "Suffering and Glory" before, and I have described all of them, and I also consulted some materials when I wrote this part of the party history courseware a few years ago. However, compared with Zuo Li's teacher's narration, it is much inferior, because without personal experience, there is no impact. Especially more than 20 years ago, Teacher Zuo Li interviewed more than 20 founding generals and admirals when they were awarded the medal in 1955, and the real events told by the old generals at that time were like precious pearls, and this re-walk on the Long March road wore the pearls, making this history more shining and more precious.
Many of us know that Li Dazhao was hanged, but we don't know that it was three overflows and death. We know that Chairman Mao's wife, Yang Kaihui, was killed, but we do not know her last words: "It is not a pity to die, but I hope that the runzhi revolution will succeed as soon as possible." More than ten days after they were killed, their 8-year-old son Mao Anying and 7-year-old Mao Anying buried their mother's body. There are many revolutionary martyrs who have not been so famous throughout the ages, but the death is not so tragic and heroic. This is a white terror that was suddenly born during the period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party! Teacher Zuo Li also talked about Gu Shunzhang's rebellion and Qian Zhuangfei's espionage, and the selection of these two character events is really wonderful, the former's rebellion turned the whole of Shanghai into a purgatory on earth, the early leaders of the Communist Party represented by Luo Yinong died tragically under the knife of the Kuomintang, and the latter's efforts to turn the tide and save the core leadership represented by Zhou Enlai and preserve the backbone of the Party Central Committee. When I went to Nanjing, I went to Yuhuatai to pay homage to the martyrs who were killed in the counter-revolutionary coup, and not far away was the Whampoa Military Academy established during the period of cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, with Chiang Kai-shek, the president, and Zhou Enlai, director of the Political Department. The cooperation, confrontation, checks and balances, and competition between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party have never stopped.
It was a turbulent and even absurd era, the CPC was held at a great meeting, looking back at the 13 deputies, the two founders of the Communist Party, "Southern Chen and Northern Li", were both absent, and some young people who were originally unknown were able to go down in history. Look at the defections, escapes, defections, deaths of those major deputies in a few years... The origin of the Long March can never be separated from the history of the Communist Party.
Bogu, Li De, Wang Ming, and others dramatically appeared on the stage of history, pouring a heavy color on the already chaotic era and exhausting the foundation laid by the Communist Party. Until the Zunyi Conference, Mao Zedong returned to the central leadership camp, the old "three-person regiment" fell, the new "three-person regiment" stood up, the Long March that had begun was given new life, and a magnificent history opened a new prelude...

When it comes to the Long March, Teacher Zuo Li mainly talks about two words: sacrifice in ➕ battle. Looking back at this martyr's word, I carefully checked it, it was simply too accurate, there are two meanings, one is the death of minors, the other is the death of the war, the death on the Long March Road, nothing more than these two. Even if you don't die in battle, you die in the snowy mountains and meadows of the battlefield.
Teacher Zuo Li said that when interviewing the founding general Wang Ping, General Wang mentioned that after the Red Army crossed the meadow, he looked back with a telescope and found that there was a group of fighters still sitting in the distance, so he took the correspondent to check it out, and when he approached, he was still shouting for the little soldiers to get up, and it turned out that more than 700 people had died back to back in hunger and cold. At that time, it was already past the meadow, and this group of little soldiers had not eaten for seven days and seven nights, and after breaking here, they waited for the large army to cross the grassland, and as a result, the large army passed, and they did not stand up again. Teacher Zuo Li wanted to know more about the situation at that time, but General Wang Ping stopped for a long time and couldn't say anything more, and when he entered the house, he only said one sentence: They are still children!
This picture of the sacrifice of 700 people was later a relief of the martyrs' monument in banyou village in the town of Ruoergebasi, called The Dawn of Victory. Nowadays, many people travel here for sightseeing, and may only be regarded as an ordinary or somewhat monumental attraction, but it is difficult to understand the pain that life cannot bear. When Teacher Zuo Li came here, he immediately knew that this was the picture told by General Wang Ping, those cold stone sculptures, with temperature, with life, let those soldiers see how beautiful the motherland they guarded with their lives is now.
Teacher Zuo Li also told the story of Chen Huiqing giving birth during the Long March, there were many female soldiers on the Long March who were pregnant and started the Long March, and at that time, they did not know that there would be no news of going north, and this walk would never come back. Many female soldiers passed through the meadow, just in time for the menstrual holiday, the night of the meadow, there was no place to sleep, everyone stood in the cold silt, many veteran soldiers of the Red Army said that at night, they heard the moans and cries of the female dolls' bodies in pain, many young female soldiers, after the Long March, there was no menstrual leave, and they could no longer have children, and the Long March caused irreparable damage to their bodies.
Chen Huiqing was one of the female soldiers who gave birth on the Long March Road, and the reason why it can be representative is that here we have to mention Dong Zhentang, a god of war of the Red Army at that time. Chen Huiqing had difficulty giving birth at that time, and had been tormented by the pain of childbirth, covered in blood, and every second counted at the moment of childbirth. Dong Zhentang led the soldiers, in order to win the time to give birth, desperately sniping at the front line to snipe the Kuomintang pursuers. In the face of the value of life, many unknown red devils questioned and even did not understand and complain about Chen Huiqing. Dong Zhentang came back from the line of fire and roared angrily: We fight for the sake of children, if we can't even keep a baby, what is the point of our fighting? In the end, Chen Huiqing finally succeeded in giving birth, and the child was raised by staying in the local farmer's home. Dong Zhentang died in 1937, and if he could survive to liberation, he would at least be a general at the time of the award ceremony.
It is not difficult for us to find that the two stories of the Red Army's Long March are particularly similar to the two scenes in "Chosin Lake" of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. The group of 700 soldiers who died on the grass resembled an ice sculpture company on an ambush mission at Chosin Lake. And Dong Zhentang's sentence is also very similar to zhu Yawen, who played Mei Sheng in "Chosin Lake": "If we don't fight this battle, our next generation will fight." We are born into death so that they will no longer fight. This is not surprising, because many of the little red devils who survived on the Long March road became senior cadres and instructors of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and this spirit of self-sacrifice and selflessness has never changed.
The Long March shows the wisdom of the leader, and Teacher Zuo Li mentioned a sentence by Mao Zedong, which is the accurate analysis in "Why china's Red Regime Can Exist". In the era of warlord division, the strife in the white regime did not stop for a day, and Chiang Kai-shek's power could not control all of China, which created an opportunity for the Red Army to survive and grow in these cracks. And there are countless cases of Zhu De and Ye Jianying abandoning the original favorable conditions to join the revolution. In the Long March, there was no shortage of wise decision-makers and staunch followers. But today, we lack the remembrance and worship of the martyrs.
Nowadays, when Zhu De is mentioned to the new generation of children, they often only know that he has a flat shoulder, and then there is the Jinggangshan Huishi, but they do not know the great merits and historical significance of Zhu De in the history of the Chinese revolution and even in the history of the Chinese military. Why can Mr. Zhu be ranked first among the ten founding marshals? Why did he serve as commander-in-chief of the Red Army, the Eighth Route Army, and the People's Liberation Army? Do you know how many of the founding marshals and generals were brought out by President Zhu? Do you know that Mr. Zhu ran around the earth to find someone to introduce the story of joining the party?
The Long March is long. There are many stories, many stories of dead people, many stories of living people, more stories. In the future, we will have more wonderful and happy stories, and the sacrifices of the ancestors will be worth it.

At present, when the country is rich and the people are strong and the years are quiet, people will think less about history and the future, because they do not have to dwell on the past and do not have to worry about the future. But what the Long March has left us is precisely what we should not forget.
Teacher Zuo Li specifically mentioned a detailed small story, he found a copy of the Marriage Law at the starting station of the Long March, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic in Ruijin, Jiangxi, also known as the Ersu Auditorium, which has such a sentence: Women can only be completely liberated if they are completely freed from dependence on men in land and economy. This is the standard and rights and interests that revolutionary martyrs used their lives to break feudal ideas and win for equality between men and women. However, 80 years later, many girls have lost these rights. Many girls say: You are responsible for earning money to support the family, and I am responsible for being beautiful as a flower. Others say: I'd rather cry in a BMW than laugh on a bicycle. If this is the value, is the bloody sacrifice of the Red Army worthwhile?
As the years pass, is that all? When it comes to the bloody battle on the Xiangjiang River, people can make up the tragic and bloody picture in their minds, but when Teacher Zuo Li interviewed General Yang Chengwu and listened to General Yang tell about Chen Shuxiang leading his troops to fight the Xiangjiang River in blood, it was really an immersive shock. At that time, Chen Shuxiang had already led his troops to break through, looking at the water of the Xiang River, which was stained red with blood, and was preparing to cross the river, but suddenly received an order to complete the task of blocking the attack to ensure that the large troops crossed the river, and the military order was like a mountain, Chen Shuxiang led 6,000 soldiers to return and re-rush into the battlefield where the breakthrough had just been made. These 6,000 people never came back. Chen Shuxiang, whose stomach was exploded by a grenade, was carried back by the enemy on a stretcher to ask for credit, and the black light blindly carried the frame under his feet, not knowing what he stepped on, and when he looked at the torch, he was stunned with horror. Only to see that Chen Shuxiang had already pulled out his intestines hard, and finally strangled his intestines to death, this heroic and righteous spirit made the enemy feel frightened.
The water rolling in the east of the Yangtze River, the waves exhaust the heroes. Walking on the Long March Road, passing by the XiangJiang River, those fellow villagers are still humming songs handed down from their grandparents and fathers: do not drink the water of the Xiangjiang River for three years, and do not eat the fish of the Xiangjiang River for ten years. Because the water of the Xiang River melted the blood of the revolutionary martyrs, and those fish grew up eating the flesh and bones of the soldiers. Only by walking on the Long March Road can those simple fellow villagers let Teacher Zuo Li deeply appreciate the continuation of the spirit of the Long March and the circulation of blood. However, these touching and inspiring stories, who else tells our children!
Teacher Zuo Li showed a group of photos of fellow villagers along the way, and you will find that those fellow villagers have one commonality: enthusiasm, hospitality, and simplicity. Whenever I heard that I was re-walking on the Long March, I would accompany me to go far and far, and I would bring a full meal to the teacher like pushing a cart to support the war. There was a big sister, holding her white and fat baby, standing in front of a recruitment office, proudly saying to Teacher Zuo Li that the baby was a red N generation, and asked the teacher: Do you see that my child looks like Maitreya Buddha? There was a great uncle, who heard about the re-walking of the Long March, told the teacher to wait, he went to the supermarket to buy a box of Chinese cigarettes and brought it over. The teacher said: Fellow, I don't smoke. The fellow villager said: This is not for you, it is for Chairman Mao's old man, who loves to smoke. Where you pass by the statue of an old man, light a tree for the old man. Hearing this, the tears that I had been breaking for a long time finally broke through the circles of my eyes and fell. Because I saw the spirit, blood, genes and blood of the Long March passing on.
Listen to it, take a look at it, how deep the plot and feelings are, slowly marching, we have never lacked stories, but there is a lack of people to tell. During the New Year's Festival, people go to famous attractions to travel, and few people retake the Long March Road. It is precisely because no one trampled on this road and retained the original appearance of the Long March Road in that year, Teacher Zuo Li saw the great beauty of the motherland on this road. The Long March Road is a capital "L" shape drawn on the map of China, measuring the breadth and depth of China's modern history like an ancient Chinese ruler. Teacher Zuo Li was very surprised to meet a Belgian couple walking on the Long March, but the other party said reverently: This is the pilgrimage road you Chinese.
Yes, pilgrimage, what a noble faith, what a sacred feat.
Individuals have memories, know kisses, and know pain.
The country has a memory, knows the way back, knows the way.
A thousand rivers have water, a thousand rivers and a thousand moons, and there are no clouds in the sky.
Teacher Zuo Li's 2-hour sharing is over, the stories I listed here are less than one-tenth of what the teacher tells, and compared to the two-year-long march, the teacher can't tell more than one in ten thousand, but these are enough to shock us. If we could really go to the battlefield in person, spread out the magnificent historical picture of 25,000 miles, and let those vivid lives and images jump on the paper, what kind of scene and baptism should it be?
