Ambassador Liu pointed out that recently some extremist radicals in Hong Kong have committed violent crimes under the guise of "anti-amendment" and seriously trampled on Hong Kong's rule of law and social order. Politicians of some countries have adhered to the "colonial mentality" and "Cold War mentality", pointed fingers at the situation in Hong Kong, and openly supported the violent elements, and some Western media ignored the violent acts of radicals, and the relevant reports were full of prejudice. I have held two press conferences on Hong Kong-related issues at home and abroad to brief them on the situation in Hong Kong, expound the Solemn and Just Stand of the Chinese Government, demand that foreign forces stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs, and urge Western media to assume their social responsibilities and not to show their eyes to the extreme radical forces.

Ambassador Liu stressed that there are some positive changes in the current situation in Hong Kong. The central government unswervingly supports Chief Executive Carrie Lam cheng yuet-ngor in leading the SAR government to govern according to law, unswervingly supports the SAR police force in strictly enforcing the law, and unswervingly supports the SAR judicial organs in punishing criminals according to law and safeguarding the rule of law and order in Hong Kong. It is hoped that Hong Kong will rely on the motherland, seize the opportunity of the "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area", achieve better development, and at the same time tell the "Hong Kong story" well, let the Western people understand a real Hong Kong, and create a good international environment for Hong Kong's development.

Secretary Chan said that during this visit, I had extensive contacts with British politicians and business circles to clarify that the situation in Hong Kong is not like that reported by Western media, to show that the Hong Kong SAR government has the confidence and ability to "stop violence and control chaos and restore order", and to introduce the four actions taken by Chief Executive Carrie Lam cheng Yuet-ngor to withdraw the bill and carry out dialogue with various circles. People from all walks of life in the UK have expressed their understanding and support for this. Looking forward to the future, Hong Kong will continue to give full play to its own advantages, actively integrate into the overall situation of national development, and make positive contributions to the development of the motherland and China-UK cooperation.
