Quanzhou, 26 Oct (Xinhua) -- The International Forum on Judicial Cooperation along the Maritime Silk Road (Quanzhou) opened in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, on the afternoon of 26 October. In his keynote speech at the forum, Zhou Qiang, Chief Justice of China and President of the Supreme People's Court, said that Chinese courts are willing to work with all parties to continue to deepen cooperation in criminal justice, severely crack down on all kinds of illegal and criminal acts related to the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", and jointly safeguard sovereignty, security and development interests.

He pointed out that Chinese courts adhere to security guarantees, severely crack down on all kinds of illegal crimes in accordance with the law, properly try criminal cases involving international investment, international trade, transnational finance and other fields in accordance with the law, deepen criminal justice cooperation with countries along the "Belt and Road", and strive to create a harmonious and stable social environment for jointly building the "Belt and Road". Chinese courts adhere to equal protection, adhere to the equal litigation status of all types of market entities, equal application of law, and equal legal responsibility, equal protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign parties in accordance with law, and strive to maintain a fair, orderly, unified and open market competition order.

At the same time, Zhou Qiang said that Chinese courts adhere to joint consultation, co-construction and sharing, fully respect the voluntary choice of dispute resolution methods by Chinese and foreign parties, support the settlement of disputes through non-litigation methods, build international commercial courts and international commercial expert committees, and improve the "one-stop" multiple resolution mechanism for international commercial disputes that organically links litigation, arbitration and mediation.

In addition, Chinese courts adhere to the convenience of science and technology, deepen the construction of smart courts, explore new models of Internet justice, build systems for smart trial, smart enforcement, smart services and other systems and people's courts' big data management and service platforms, formulate online litigation rules, strive to provide Intelligent, Accurate, Efficient and Convenient litigation services for Chinese and foreign parties, and actively contribute Chinese solutions to the progress of the global rule of law.

Zhou Qiang said that the Chinese court is willing to uphold the Silk Road spirit of peaceful cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit and win-win results with other countries and international organizations, enhance exchanges and mutual learning, deepen judicial cooperation, and promote international cooperation on the "Belt and Road" to create more benefits for the people of all countries and contribute more wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
