The origin of the Xie surname in Yangjiang, Guangdong

Duke Xie lived from the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty to the beginning of the Jin Dynasty, and was born in the nineteenth year of Jian'an, the Emperor of Han. Later, Duke Xie moved from Yangxia, Henan (present-day Taikang County) to Shining, Zhejiang, as the ancestor of Zhejiang I. The descendant of the fourth Xie Yigong (the eldest brother of xie an of the Eastern Jin Dynasty) and the 22nd Jingwen Duke moved south from Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province, to Nanxiong, Guangdong.

In the Ming Dynasty, the four brothers Zongren, Zongyi, Zongli and Zongzhigong moved from Yufu Village (present-day Xiebian Village, Kaiping City) in Xinhui, Guangdong Province, to Yangjiang Dongtang, and were the ancestors of the Xie clan of Yangjiang, Yangchun, Yangdong, Yangxi, Xinyi, Dianbai and other surrounding cities and counties.
