For a long time, I wanted to take a closer look at the world's famous works of the great writers, but I always felt that the length was long, the content was complex and difficult to understand, and I gave up, and only had a rough understanding of a few of them. I was fortunate enough to watch Dostoevsky's magnum opus "Idiot" through the TV platform, and I couldn't wait to make a feeling after a busy day.
On a train bound for Statsa St. Petersburg, for the sake of the heroine Na. Rukokin, who had fallen out with her father and returned home halfway to mourn the inheritance, talked with the male protagonist, Duke Myshkin, about his plans and future. Unhappiness and resentment made him growl frequently, and the huge inheritance of 2.5 million rubles made him determined not to marry Fernastasia. Mr. Duke looked serene but not very healthy, and he was as weak as a baby who had just landed on the ground and needed to be taken care of by someone else. He went to Switzerland for more than four years to treat him, and the kind doctors helped him to provide for him for two years, and now that he is penniless, he has to return to Russia, where he was born and raised, but has no relatives or friends to find a way out. The 26-year-old young Duke has portrayed Nastasia's voice and smile from Rukokin's narration: she is wonderful, and her eyes are full of sorrow and misfortune. He seemed to be in love with her.
After getting out of the car, Duke Myshkin had nowhere to go, and finally went to the house of a general whose wife shared his surname. In his opinion, perhaps they were relatives. But the general did not want to take him in, and the duke did not intend to stay. When the "friendly" general asked the Duke to brighten his handwriting, he felt that he was still a talent, and finally promised madame to receive him and lend him 25 roubles. At this time, another male protagonist, Galia, appears. He intended to marry back to Nastasia, so that he could be rewarded with 75,000 rubles. These were arrangements of the general and the count. While they were talking, Duke Myshkin was still busy when he stumbled upon a picture of Nastasia. As he analyzed, her eyes were not happy, full of sorrow, and at the same time truly beautiful beyond anyone's reach.
The general went to Nastasia's house for a banquet. Mr. Duke talked with the general's wife and the three young ladies, and he won their favor. He told them stories of grief and finally gave the four ladies character ratings. He deliberately stopped the character of the general's eldest daughter from saying anything, because he thought she was so beautiful, like... Nastasia. A sentence that popped up inadvertently annoyed the general's wife, who ordered him to take a photograph of Nastasia from his study, thus clashing with Galia. Gallia scolded the Duke for not going around talking nonsense, calling him an "idiot" and asking him to bring a note to the Grand Lady. The ladies and ladies immediately aroused dissatisfaction with the general, and the lady asked the duke to return the note to Galia and warn the man.
At the general's behest, Gallia took the Duke to his house to rest. Galia's family had rooms for rent, and her mother and sister were kind, but they were dissatisfied and wept because Galia was going to marry Nastasia. The tenants of their house talked to the Duke and soon inquired about what the Duke had (in fact, it was only 25 rubles and a few pieces of change of clothes), and soon Galia's father took his only 25 roubles. When his mother and sister quarreled with Galia, Galia thought that it was the duke who had told them both what he had heard and ordered him to speak more; the duke had a hard time discerning his mouth, and the mother and son were also in a quarrel for a while. As the Duke passed the gate, the bell rang and he was stunned when he opened the door for the living Nastasia. A series of reactions caught him off guard: Nastasia laughed and not only treated him like a servant, but ordered him to go to the briefing. It was clear that our foolish duke was willing
Service. Nastasia's appearance makes Galia's mother and sister smile, and eventually she can't stand her words and deeds and scolds her as a "lowly woman"
Gallia wanted to hit her sister and mistakenly hit the Duke in the face. The Duke was so aggrieved that he secretly wept when he returned to the room, and Gallia, out of some reason, knelt down and begged the Duke for forgiveness; at the same time their conversation made the Duke understand that he had married Nastasia for money, and decided to go to Nastasia. At the same time, Rukokin also came to Galia's house and offered to buy Nastasia for 100,000 rubles, and When Nastasia left Galia's house, she said, "I'm sorry, madame." I am by no means the kind of woman you are talking about. ”
< > change of scenery
In The House of Nastasia, the crowd gathers together, regardless of identity. Nastasia greeted the well-meaning Duke politely, while Gallia stared at the Duke. Nastasia sometimes laughed wildly and drank, and uttered something to shame to the surprise of everyone, especially the general and the count, which they manipulated. Nastasia gritted her teeth in pain as they cried out their destruction of her. She was an orphan, and the Count adopted her and ruined her when she was under 16 years old, and now they sell her like a commodity. The general and the count trembled unceasingly, and Nastasia shook out the true face of everyone, feeling that no one would want her. But the young Duke of Myshkin loved her and wanted to marry her, even though he now had nothing to take care of. Nastasia said that she had wanted to marry such a good man, even if she lived a poor life, but now she was not worthy. At this time, the Duke took out a letter given to him by a lawyer in Switzerland for everyone to see, and it turned out that he could get an inheritance of 1.5 million rubles! Just when the dream was fulfilled, Rukokin brought a group of people, and he took 100,000 rubles in cash to marry Nastasia. After a fierce ideological struggle, Nastasia decided to marry Rukokin. She felt that she had always been a prostitute, unworthy of a duke, and did not want to be defiled
Duke, she believes that her only way out is to continue to hang out with Rukokin's gang is the final destination, after all, Lukekin also "loves" her very much. After saying all this, when she was sure that the 100,000 rubles belonged to her, when she was sure that Gallia would bow down to all 3 rubles, she laughed and threw the 100,000 rubles into the burning furnace, asking Gallia to pick it up, or it would all be reduced to ashes. Everyone thought she was crazy, and Galia seemed indifferent, put on her top hat, and finally fainted in the doorway like a full gentleman preparing to leave with her head held high. Seeing this, Nastasia was satisfied and cried bitterly, she knew that no one could stand the threshold of money. She ordered the money to be picked up and given to Galia as a bounty. Then she rushed out the door with Rukokin and his gang, stepped into the carriage and disappeared into the night, while the Duke chased after her non-stop, shouting, "Nastasia..."
The story ends here, and the plot is gripping and shocking. The whole story is about the time gap between two nights, which makes such a big change in a person's life. It can be said that Nastasia had been uninhibited before, and as the count's mistress, she provided for food and clothing, and all she thought about was how to hold all kinds of banquets and spend as much money as possible to have fun. Perhaps after meeting the Duke, the Duke's "dementia" and integrity inspired her. It is not difficult to see that the author's purpose in writing "The Idiot" is precisely in that dark age, where absurdity and stupidity have always existed normally, and when a little decent thing appears, it is not tolerated. The Duke of Myshkin in the film is a reader, because he does not know the world, he has not yet thought about the schemes of others, seems to lack a little thinking ability, speaks straight, and does not expect the hypocrisy of their middle-level fortification. Apparently, Mr. Duke is this idiot. Many times, the generals, Galia, and Nastasia and others called him "fool, idiot", and he still did not understand. I think the author deliberately set up such an "idiot" to contrast with everyone. Like a beacon in the darkness, it reveals a little hope, thus revealing the tragic fate of Nastasia's unwillingness to marry him and go to the end of the road again. In the film, when the general says that he will temporarily seek a position as a small scribe for him to get a reward of 35 rubles, he is moved and does not know what to say, but repeatedly repeats "You are really a good person". The Duke seemed to not understand black and white, and as long as others were slightly better to him, he was grateful. To put it bluntly, I think he is like Mr. Lu Xun's Kong Yiji: very pedantic (of course, this is a very one-sided view). The Duke may only see the front of this world, but he did not think of flipping it over to look at the other side. The Duke seemed to be a bit of an idiot, not knowing what not to say and not to do; he only understood the consequences of going straight to the end, going straight to the end, without carefully considering the common connection between the previous and subsequent events. But he also had a brain, a clever side, and just the right expression of his goodness and desire to save suffering. When he heard Galia confess, he decided to go to Nastasia to redeem the woman. He didn't care if he could marry or not, he only felt that he loved her and wanted to help her and free her from the "prostitute" career, but Nastasia eventually left the poor rich duke because of his shame. Perhaps, this is a dissatisfaction with the great Dostoevsky's strong criticism of the dark society.
April 4, 1997
Copying the thoughts of that year, it is as if I have watched the classic "Idiot" again, the thoughts of the 18-year-old at the age of 18, the very naïve insights, just hastily recorded the plot story in the movie. Now maybe the mood and perception have changed a lot, and there is no time to care about those famous books or anything, and every day is just a numb life of three o'clock and a line. Dare to ask when will there be another opportunity to review?
Turned on 2010, 10, 16
Seeing "The Idiot" again is the high school textbook of my 16-year-old daughter, I have no patience and energy to read it, but just turn over the memories of that year and pay tribute to my eighteen-year-old self!
