How does it feel to see history and reality overlap? Recently, the main creators of the TV series "The Age of Awakening" came to the Red Chamber of Peking University to visit the theme exhibition of "Brilliant And Great Cause, Red Prologue - The Red Chamber of Peking University and the Early Revolutionary Activities of the Communist Party of China in Beijing" to relive the magnificent years that are worth remembering forever.

For the first time, the play shows the era and historical picture of the New Culture Movement and the May Fourth Movement. As the center of the New Culture Movement and the birthplace of the May Fourth Movement, the Red House of Peking University is an important place for the early revolutionary activities of the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing, and is the most important theatrical scene in the play.

"It's really the same." This is the most said word of the main creative staff stepping into the Red Chamber of Peking University.

Director Zhang Yongxin introduced that in order to let the audience see the most real Red Chamber, the crew rebuilt a Red Chamber in the Hengdian Film and Television Base according to the original appearance of 1:1.2 ratio, and also came here many times to conduct field measurements. "When I see every brick and tile here, I can remember how every room and every scene we shot in the first place, and there is a feeling that I know from other places."

Entering the library director's room on the first floor, Zhang Yongxin thought that there was a shot of Chen Yannian and Chen Qiaonian martyrs looking at the camera and smiling. During filming, the actor asked: Who should we look at and laugh at, and why should we laugh?

Zhang Yongxin replied: "You should laugh because you see us a hundred years later." Laugh at the strength of the motherland and the prosperity and well-being of the people a hundred years later. ”

When the actors change their identities and go to the Red Chamber of Peking University again, it is not only a dialogue with the characters they play, but also an exchange with the revolutionary ancestors. Liu Lin, the actor who plays Mrs. Li Dazhao in the play, came to the Red Chamber of Peking University for the first time, and she said: "Stepping into here, you can more deeply feel the surging passion of the revolutionary ancestors." As the earliest awakeners of that era, they stood at the forefront of the times and issued the strongest cry. I was thrilled to think that this was the place where they had worked, moved, and fought 100 years ago. ”

Here, visitors can see all 63 issues of The New Youth magazine, the multi-edition Communist Manifesto, a full set of monthly Communist Party magazines and other precious historical materials.

Xia Dejun, the actor who plays Zhou Enlai in the play, especially mentioned that he saw the typos in the exhibition of "The Communist Manifesto" and "New Youth". He felt that these vivid historical materials made people deeply understand why this was the cradle of the new cultural movement and why it could become the source of the May Fourth Movement.

Luo Cunkang, secretary of the party committee and director of the Chinese Min Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, said: "We found that these documents, archives and text versions are the most spiritual connotations, although there were also worries before, but practice has proved that the audience still likes it." By bringing the audience directly into the scene of history, we let the cultural relics speak and speak with historical facts. Let the audience immerse themselves in dialogue with their ancestors, so as to more intuitively understand our revolutionary spirit and party building spirit. ”

The second reading room on the third floor of the Red Chamber used to be where Mao Zedong worked as library secretary. Here, visitors can see stacks of newspapers neatly arranged on the table. Seeing this familiar scene, Hou Jingjian, the actor who played Mao Zedong, and Zhang Tong, the actor who played Li Dazhao, couldn't help but "play" on the spot, and in just a few minutes, they recreated the plot of the play through the collision of lines.

After the broadcast of "The Age of Awakening", many young people had "post-drama sequelae". Some people can't help "two brushes" and "three brushes", and some people travel thousands of miles to visit the Red House of Peking University to visit and punch cards...

In this regard, liu Guohua, the chief producer of the show, said bluntly that this is a TV series with a threshold, and it was worried that the audience would abandon the show because they could not understand it, and now it can gain the love of so many young people, which is indeed a bit unexpected.

But at the same time, he also mentioned that because in the whole creative process, the main creative team has done everything that can be mobilized, can be examined, and can be expressed in the play, so it is also confident in the broadcast of the TV series. Liu Guohua summed this up as "a little stupid kung fu."

He believes that the success of "Awakening Era" is inseparable from the main creative team's insistence on "keeping right and innovating" throughout the entire creative process. The so-called "shouzheng" is to strictly abide by the laws of artistic creation on the basis of respecting history, and not to be stingy in the details; "innovation" is manifested in, on the one hand, trying to use some new historical expression methods such as prints to restore the atmosphere of the times and convey some new aesthetic concepts and viewpoints; on the other hand, through some traditional freehand and blank treatment, respect for the expression of young people in the new era.

Long Pingping, the screenwriter of "The Age of Awakening" and former deputy secretary general of the Literature Research Office of the CPC Central Committee, has recently had some "troubles", saying, "A few days ago, I went to Shanghai for a meeting, and I was surrounded by an old man and wanted to take a group photo. For the first time, he also knew the meaning of "urge" and "yyds (eternal god)", "looking at the bullet screen to see the dizzy."

The Red Chamber of Peking University is becoming a magnet for continuing the red spirit. Luo Cunkang felt that the reason why the Peking University Red House Exhibition was able to gain the love and pursuit of so many young people was inseparable from the strong historical, epochal and ideological nature of the exhibition itself. In addition, the pursuit of spiritual life by modern young people and audiences should no longer be underestimated.

It is reported that since the reopening of the Red House of Peking University on June 29, a total of 608 batches of groups have been received, and nearly 30,000 people have visited the museum. On August 1 this year, a personal reservation channel will also be opened, and the audience can make reservations through the WeChat public account of the Memorial Hall of the Early Beijing Revolutionary Activities of the Communist Party of China.
