The large-sized shrimp seedlings of P. vannabin in the greenhouse are playing in the water, looking forward to the arrival of the "new owner".

Wang Zhaowei, a farmer in Duanjia Village, Liushu Town, Laobian District, and his colleagues in the village came to the large-sized seed greenhouse of Vannabin shrimp to prepare for the official release of shrimp seedlings. Wang Zhaowei talked about the benefits of this large-scale seed stocking: "My aquaculture water surface this year is 4.5 mu, and I am ready to put 120,000 (tail), and I use this large-sized seed to release. This method is easier to manage than the release of seedlings, and there is no need to specifically manage the time period of breeding seedlings. In addition, the survival rate of large seedlings is high, the risk of breeding is small, and the level of our retail farming management technology is limited, which reduces risk and can ensure income. ”

Large-scale fingerlings of Vannabin shrimp are a new breeding technique for pond culture using steel structure greenhouses to rear shrimp to 2.5 to 3 cm. Compared with large-sized seedlings of more than 2.5 cm, the traditional pond culture only has a seedling size of 1.0 to 1.5 cm, and the adaptability and stress resistance of the seeds are relatively poor. Large-scale seedlings can effectively avoid a large number of deaths caused by unstable climate and water environment in the early stage of breeding, and improve the success rate of breeding.

Song Songwei, senior engineer of the Municipal Agricultural and Rural Comprehensive Development Service Center, told reporters that the traditional way is mainly to release small-sized seedlings in mid-May, during which seedlings are susceptible to weather and changes in the water environment, resulting in a large number of deaths in the early stage. After the release of large-scale seedlings, the market response is better, its biggest advantage is that the seed size is large enough, the temperature is easy to control, the disease resistance is strong, and the traditional seed, from the past three to five years, the final pond culture rate does not exceed 30%. Greenhouse cultivation of large-scale fry of Vannabin shrimp is equivalent to the early intensive management of the seed, and then put into the people's pond, according to the tracking of the past two to three years, the success rate of pond culture can reach 70%. The success rate of traditional farming methods is 3 times higher than that of the previous traditional farming method. Cultivating large-scale fry is to move the breeding risk upstream, in the past, the breeding risk was concentrated in a large number of breeding ponds of farmers, and now it is the maximum protection of the breeding benefits of farmers.

Penaeus vannabin, also known as Penaeus vannamei, is one of the three excellent species with the highest aquaculture production in the world, which has many advantages such as small cephalothorax, high meat content, strong stress resistance, fast growth, long breeding period, high density and low salinity resistance, long survival time from water, and convenient for live shrimp transportation. Our city is located on the shore of the Bohai Sea in the Liaodong Peninsula, flat along the beach, rich in water resources, fertile water quality, rich in bait resources, is an excellent area for the breeding and breeding of P. vannabin shrimp seeds. Since the introduction of Vannabin shrimp in 1999, the technical staff of the Municipal Agricultural and Rural Comprehensive Development Service Center has continuously studied and promoted new technologies and new models, and the city's aquaculture technology has always been at the leading level in the province. In 2013, they also conquered the key technology of using sea cucumber nursery for factory breeding, which made the shrimp farming of Vannabin in our city develop rapidly and become the dominant industry in our region. However, the problem of high pre-breeding mortality rates in the early stage of shrimp farming in Liaoning has always plagued farmers. In order to meet the needs of breeding and reduce the breeding risk of farmers, since 2018, the Municipal Agricultural and Rural Comprehensive Development Service Center has organized technical personnel to conduct field investigations and investigations on the breeding mode of Rudong sheds in Jiangsu Province, and combined with the actual local situation, the technical personnel found that in addition to germplasm and seed quality, seed specifications and stocking time are also the key to the breeding process. In addition, in recent years, the Yingkou area has been affected by drought, and the shortage of water sources and poor water quality in the early stage of breeding are also an important cause of large numbers of deaths in the early stage of stocking. How can such a puzzle be solved? The Municipal Agricultural and Rural Comprehensive Development Service Center cooperated with the Battery Base of Yingkou Breeding Experimental Station of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences and Liaoning Tianshi Aquaculture Co., Ltd., on the basis of learning from the breeding experience of Small Greenhouses in Rudong, Jiangsu Province, to further study a more scientific new breeding model that meets the actual local conditions, and is committed to exploring the technology of cultivating large-sized shrimp seedlings in greenhouses.

Wang Lianyong, a professor-level senior engineer at the Municipal Agricultural and Rural Comprehensive Development Service Center, said that the cultivation of seedlings is a meticulous and complex process, and the technical personnel are on the scene every day, and the seedlings are gradually transferred to greenhouse breeding after more than ten days of cultivation. In the process of greenhouse breeding, technical personnel should carry out controllable breeding, regularly carry out some water quality testing, timely adjustment according to the state of shrimp fry, every day in a closed environment to divert water, to observe the shrimp activity state, eating situation, to detect a dozen times a day, very hard. Another outstanding advantage of the greenhouse cultivation of large-scale shrimp seed technology of Vannabin shrimp is that the breeding cycle is short, about 70 days, before the outbreak of shrimp disease in mid-August, it can reach the commercial specification and achieve staggered market sales, thus effectively promoting the income of farmers and increasing the efficiency of fisheries. At present, the water body used to study and demonstrate the cultivation of large-scale shrimp seedlings in the demonstration greenhouse has reached 5,000 cubic meters, and the cumulative promotion of water bodies in the past three years has reached 15,000 cubic meters.
