After all, this thing can't sell for much money, and no amount of fishing can offset the loss of shellfish they eat.
So who are these starfish, and where do they come from and where do they go? Let's try to answer these ultimate three questions.
Their scientific name is Asterias amurensis, belonging to the echinoderm phylum, starfish, echinosta, starfish, starfish, also known as Pacific starfish or flat-bottomed starfish, is the most common type of starfish in the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea seas of China. Looks a lot like the gold supporting character in SpongeBob SquarePants.
However, unlike the harmless Pai Da Xing, the spiny sea car is a ferocious carnivore, mainly preying on various mollusks, and will kill each other when there is insufficient food.

Several commonly farmed shellfish in Jiaozhou Bay, oriental seamed clams, mussels, Filipino clams, and ctenophore scallops, are all on the starfish recipe.
Starfish mainly like to eat the Oriental seam clams, followed by mussels and Philippine clams are also quite interested, there is no first three, scallops also eat ok.
The problem is that the things it loves to eat are much more valuable than its own, and starfish is not very particular about eating, and it is wasted while eating. The place we went to was a mess. Benthic scallops can still run, and several other shellfish can only sit still.
So, what are the natural enemies of starfish? Unfortunately, no, adult starfish come and go across the ocean floor, invincible, and the only thing that can really threaten them is the bigger self. Sea otters eat them occasionally, but with the presence of more delicious sea urchins, who would eat a slightly less delicious starfish?
However, juvenile starfish still have many predators, such as carnivorous fish such as yellow perch and black perch, but these fish have been caught almost as well in the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea.
This, combined with the recent eutrophication of seawater, has provided a large amount of food for starfish larvae, leading to an explosion in their numbers. Since 06, starfish waves have been frequent. Some time ago, fluorescent beaches are one of the signs of seawater eutrophication.

In reality, it is too difficult to control the number of starfish by adjusting the temperature of the sea, but it is more practical to start by eradicating water pollution and restoring predatory fish populations.
The existing adult starfish may only have a comprehensive use of this solution.
The main part that starfish can use is their reproductive glands, which are commonly known as yellow. Starfish yellow contains 15.46% protein, is rich in trace elements, vitamins, fats and other nutrients, and is particularly rich in unsaturated fatty acids.
But there is a substance in starfish yellow called sulfate steroid saponin, which makes it taste a little spicy, and it will be allergic when eaten too much. Therefore, it is best to remove this substance before consumption.
The specific operation method is to soak with citric acid, and the raw materials are mixed with the following: citric acid concentration 0. 10mol/L, feed-to-liquid ratio (weight ratio of starfish yellow and citric acid solutions) 1:8, keep the temperature 50 °C soaked for 3 hours, you can better remove this harmful substance, sulfate steroid saponin removal rate and protein retention rate are 70. 96% and 91. 29％
Starfish shells have little edible value, but they are rich in collagen and can be made into gelatin for food processing.
However, the shell of starfish is more calcium, and the shell should be pretreated with acid before extracting proteins. Using a concentration of 1.0 mol/L hydrochloric acid, soaking for more than 21 hours, the decalcification rate of the shell can reach 73.85%.
Summary: Starfish can be used comprehensively, but compared with the losses it causes, this little gain can only be said to be a drop in the bucket.
