On June 7, the Forest Defense Station of Dunhuang Forest Technology Center released 11,000 yellow-spotted celestial cattle eating insects, flower velvet parasitism, into Heshui Village, Crescent Spring Town, to further reduce the density of the population of the yellow-spotted celestial cattle through the biological control measures of "treating insects with insects", reducing tree mortality and tree branch drying.
Villager Zhang Cheng said: "In May and July last year, the forest technicians put here the beneficial insect that eats the celestial cow, the flower velvet shell. After an investigation by forest technicians this year, they said that the breeding of velvet nails was particularly good. According to my observation, the effect of the velvet nails to eliminate the tianniu is particularly good, and this year's forest belt trees are also exuberant, and the tianniu under the trees eat much less wood chips. ”
It is understood that last year, Dunhuang City successively set up test sites in Qili Town, Suzhou Town, Crescent Spring Town and other areas, and released more than 30,000 head of flower wool to prevent and control the Yellow Spot Star Tianniu. Up to now, a total of 46,000 head of flower velvet nails have been released in the city. Last year, the test site put 3 heads of velvet nails on each tree, and in March this year, the survey found that there were more than 30 adult wintering velvet beetles on 1 tree, which laid a solid foundation for the city to further promote this biological control technology and improve the control effect of the yellow spotted star Tianniu.
Qin Zhanyi, director of the forest defense station of the Dunhuang Forest Technology Center, said: "This spring's investigation found that there was no problem in wintering in our city. This year, we will further expand the scope of the experiment, the purpose is to promote the control measures of the yellow spotted star Tianniu by the flower velvet, and strive to spread this technology to the whole city and effectively protect the forestry ecological environment of Dunhuang. ”
