Beijing News (chief reporter Sun Haiguang) Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee Chairman Hashimoto Seiko said yesterday that it will promote the rationalization of the medical system during the Tokyo Olympic Games, when about 540 medical personnel will be needed every day, and said that 80% of the medical personnel have been basically identified.

The IOC's Tokyo Olympic Coordination Committee and the Tokyo Organising Committee yesterday concluded their 11th three-day joint meeting, the last joint meeting before the Tokyo Olympics, and the two sides held consultations on epidemic response and other aspects. At a press conference after the joint meeting, Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee Chairman Seiko Hashimoto said that the number of people involved in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Japan had been reduced from about 180,000 before the postponement to about 78,000.

Hashimoto said that he will promote the rationalization of the medical system during the Olympic Games, "At present, it is envisaged that there will be about 230 doctors and about 310 nurses per day, and about 80% of the overall number of eyebrows will be raised." Hashimoto said that the doctors during the Olympic Games are mainly sports doctors, which will not hinder the direct construction of the medical system for the response to the new crown. Hashimoto also said that he has received a commitment from nine hospitals in Tokyo to become the designated hospital for the Olympic Games. In addition, the Tokyo Organising Committee is coordinating with 20 hospitals outside tokyo.

Commenting on declining popular support for the Tokyo Olympics, Hashimoto said, "More efforts are needed to show the public how we can ensure safety." Yesterday afternoon, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike held a 30-minute meeting, the main focus of which was to carry out a large-scale vaccination for the people in the capital region as soon as possible.
