When we are naturally integrated with the things around us, while caring for those things that do not belong to us, we are also invisibly benefiting from them, which is a higher level of enlightenment and practice.
When the State of Zou and the State of Lu were at war, Zou Mugong asked Mencius: "Thirty-three of our officials died on the battlefield, but at that time there were no people willing to go into battle to help kill the enemy. ”
Mencius listened and said, "When the harvest was not good in the famine, a large number of the old, weak, sick and disabled among your people starved to death, and the corpses filled the ravines, and the prime-age people fled their hometowns in order to escape, and there were thousands of such people, but at that time there were many grain and property in your warehouse, and many officials did not report this situation, because they maimed the people because of their indifference, and ZengZi said: 'Abstain, abstain, rebel, The anti-Hur also', the common people are now only using the same means to pay tribute, so don't blame them, King. ”
Mencius is talking here about the relationship between the king and the people, between the officials and the people, when Zou Mugong complained in front of Mencius, saying that his officials died on the battlefield, but there was no help from the people, and Mencius said to Zou Mugong: In previous years, when the people starved to death and fled the famine, those in power also saw death and could not be saved, and it was precisely because of their indifference that the people later ignored them.
So the real problem is not in the people, but in the "superior" himself, when you want the people to treat the people in power, you have to do how the person in power first treats the people.
Mencius also cites a sentence from Zengzi here: "Abstain from it, abstain from it, those who rebel against it, and those who do the opposite."
This means that how you treat others, others will return to you in the same way, which is what we call today, "those who love to return, and those who are blessed to come", so Mencius's words are also of great enlightening significance for us today.
The whole process and result of life is like putting a mirror in front of you, what kind of posture you show yourself, and finally the mirror reflects the same face.
So when you expect a thing or a person to be in a good state in front of you, even if you want the world to be relatively kind to you, you must treat this "mirror" with a correct and peaceful attitude, and finally it can reflect the state you expect.

After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, according to the plan to build a palace in Nanjing, the person in charge of the project sent the drawings to Zhu Yuanzhang for approval, and Zhu Yuanzhang removed all the bells and whistles, and ordered people to paint a lot of shocking historical stories on the walls for decoration, just so that he and many officials never forgot the lessons of history.
Zhu Yuanzhang's cars, utensils, and other items should be made of gold according to the custom, and then they all ordered that they be replaced by copper, and the official in charge of this matter said: "This does not use much gold.", Zhu Yuanzhang said: "The rich are rich in all directions, not stingy with this gold, but to pursue the way of frugality, the so-called frugal covenant, not the first, how to lead the world, and the beginning of luxury, is from small to large." ”

This incident conveys the truth of words and deeds, but the wisdom he implies is a reflection of external phenomena by himself.
What kind of state a person wants to face, what kind of person you want to make the people around you, first of all, you have to do it yourself, and from another point of view, people themselves have a magnetic field, when you are good enough, you attract the same similar people, and vice versa.
So when you want to create a peaceful and stable state of life, first of all, you must create a peaceful inner state of mind in your own heart, and use compassion to influence others, so that you will influence the outside from the inside, which is the most appropriate state of enlightenment for a person.
